Best way to handle event registrations? Reply to topic

I'd like your advice/opinion.
I run a site for a non-profit organization and we frequently have events that have a registration fee.
What I'm currently doing is creating an item in Storez (under an "Events" substore). Then I'll link to that item from News article and CPGNuCalendar event item.
The Storez module is a little cumbersome for something that doesn't have an instant download or a shippable item. (going thru shipping screens and such)

Check out the site at: www.fwfa.org

Any other suggested methods that might work a little smoother?

Oops, sorry - somehow I missed this post.

Yes, I've noticed you were using it that way Smile

Check your PM.

The advantage of Storez is that you can also assign them to a group for that event, which can then provide forum access for event details/follow-up/discussion. Maybe the download is a copy of their "ticket".

The un-released Storez v9.3.3 now has provision for adding direct links rather than having a specific product for sale, so you could also link from there to your registration (donation) point. This enhancement opens up wider possibilities for your Store e.g. amazon products, affiliate site links, etc.
