Biograph Reply to topic

I'm having problems with both the Biograph forums here (it says only moderators may view the posts in it) and on my own site.

On my site, when I fill in the dates and click the draw graph button - the graph never comes up. In firefox it's just completely blank and in IE I get a red X where the graph is supposed to be. I tried both files that are in the download section and both give the same problem.

The module requires that you have GD enabled on your server.
install.txt wrote
Requirements:
PHP to be compiled --with-gd and --with-png
Check admin.php?op=info

GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)

Thank you for the reply Pheonix! You were (of course) exactly correct. That was the problem. My test server that I run on my personal computer doesn't have gd installed.

I went ahead and uploaded the module to my family site though and it worked GREAT! I know it seems a bit silly but I didn't want to try uploading it without it working in the test server first - just didn't want to break anything Embarassed but after you pointed out that gd was needed, I figured that was indeed what was breaking it.

Do you know if I am able to install a version that would work with windows xp? I'll admit I didn't even know how to set up a test server that would run cpg-dragonfly until I found this site here:
"Install PHP 5 on Windows".
I'll try to search online to see if I am able to find anything that would work for me but if you happen to know any good links off the top of your head that would be great!

EDIT: Update - I just found this when I looked up gd:
php 4.3.x is available, and it includes a version of gd as "standard equipment." php_gd2.dll is included in a standard PHP installation for Windows, it's just not enabled by default. To turn it on, the user may simply uncomment the line "extension=php_gd2.dll" in php.ini and restart the PHP extension.

lol if only all fixes could be this simple Rolling Eyes

It's now working on my test server too! Thank you again Pheonix!

Your caution is understood and, these days, smart practice 😉

There are a number of "packages" which provide it all in one, though many will tell you to do them one by one and learn the fundamentals - sounds like you're on track - well done Smile
