[done] Dealer Pricing Reply to topic

I see Storez has a place for wholesale price. Would this be the same as cost?
I’m looking to have the option of selling wholesale to certain members.
I would be in need of 4 price categories, “Retail”, “Price”, “Wholesale” and “Cost”.
Regular sales would get the “Price”
Wholesale members would get “Wholesale”
Admins would get to see all
If that would be a lot of work what kind of a price would I be looking at?

For now, wholesale is meant more as an indicator you can use when setting your pricing/discounting.

To make it work will require additional group settings for each pricing option, then checking which group the member is in. However, even after some basic thinking, I can see a number of potential conflicts,
  • what happens when you (inadvertently) have members in more than one group
  • what does this mean for the discounting system
  • someone will want discounts on a groups basis
  • what happens about coupons when they are introduced

So, it needs some more thought.

Server specs (Server OS / Apache / MySQL / PHP / DragonflyCMS):

Customer would be regular by default (and get Standard Price) as is now.

Dealer customers would be high volume / resellers and need to be marked some way by admin.
(I see no admin interface for customers in Storez.)
So I thought buy placing them into a group would be the best way.

Another price field would need to be added to the product.

Dealers would get “Dealer Price” or Promotion price if less.

When introducing coupons add the option in admin “Allow dealers to use coupons”

UPS and USPS out of the way, for now, so this is now in progress - extra fields added to cart_products table:
- cost_price
- wholesaleGroup

The existing 'wholesale_price' field will be the basis upon which the 'wholesaleGroup' gets its pricing for that particular product i.e. you can assign one wholesale group for each product - of course, Dealers can belong to a multitude of DF groups.

Presumably the 'cost_price' field is to help determine margins. When developed, the coupon issue will take wholesale into account and similarly when affiliate sales are introduced.

Now the touchy process of making it work without screwing everything else up Laughing

Okay, I've created a "Dealers" group and added you.

Start here » nukebiz.com/Storez/ - you will see the "Dealers" button on one product.
Then continue through the Checkout process - now also allows for product options.

Anyway, now released » nukebiz.com/Downloads/...ils/id=64/

OK I got it up on my test site and so far it’s working well.
I was wondering what it would take to add a second price option.
I need the Dealer and also a wholesale option.

Can we have the price option default to a group (Dealer for Dealer Wholesale for Wholesale)?

Can we have it show accumulative cross out prices like it shows for "List Price" now.
Reg user would see List Price $0.00 crossed out.
Dealer would also see Sale Price $0.00 crossed out.
Wholesale would see all the above as well as Dealer $0.00 crossed out.
