Summary: Effective when used properly
Comment: I've had the HBF-306 for quite a while, but I didn't think it worked very effectively because I was getting a wide array of results within moments. But I recently noticed that the results changed depending on how high or low I held the unit, so I did a search online for the proper usage. I found only one site that mentioned that you need to hold the unit at 90degrees, so I tried that and I've found that it is very consistent since then. I don't know if it mentioned that in the instructions and I just ignored it, but make sure you don't!

Comment: As I use the metric system I really had to read the booklet. After that a very easy to use device. There is no memory for the measurements (losing a star here), but it keeps up the personal settings for up to 5 people. It's light and smaller than other meters.

Comment: I have to respectfully disagree with the previous negative review left for this product. I suppose my 1st question would be: How accurate was the reading you were comparing to the Omron reading??? I find the Omron Body Fat Analyzer to be extremely accurate, and very easy to use. No more messing with calipers, wondering if the calipers pinched enough, and wondering if I'm using the calipers in the correct location(s). With the Omron, you simply plug-in your age, height, weight and place your hands on the sensors and --- voila! Instant body fat reading. Having said this, the directions do state that certain criteria (time of day, when you ate last, etc) should be followed to ensure an accurate reading. Overall, I am very pleased with this product, and would highly recommend it. I now rely on this more than I do our scale, as I am more focused on body fat % than weight.

Summary: A waste of money
Comment: My gym had this fat analyzer free to use, and so my friend and I tried it. His body fat is around 7-8 percent and mine is around 14-15. After entering all of our necessary information, and completing the test, my buddy came up at 12% and me at 10?! I don't know what that thing was measuring, but it certainly wasn't accurate.
