Summary: Fantastic Alternative to Expensive Pads and Tampons
Comment: I was hesitant at first to try wearing a menstrual cup. It sounded gross, and more importantly, uncomfortable. I am so glad I was wrong. The Diva Cup is a fantastic alternative to pads and tampons. I've used this for two cycles now, and have thrown all my tampons away. There is a steep learning curve; the first time I had a hard time getting it in. I highly recommend the LJ community menstrual_cups for information and help on getting started. The silicone is comfortable, and as long as I've put it in properly, I've never had a problem with leaking. I normally leave mine in for 8 hours, and even on my heavy days, I've never filled the cup. I also never have to take it out at work because it stays in so long. I don't even feel it when it's in, and it's nice not to have to worry about waste, sneaking tampons into the bathroom, remembering to have tampons in my bag, or toxic shock syndrome. All in all, a great investment, and I'll definitely get the larger size when I need it.

Summary: Makes Life Easier
Comment: I've been using the Diva Cup for two cycles now, and I'm very pleased with it. For starters, I don't have to worry about stocking up on pads and tampons every month. You don't have the dryness or the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome as with tampons, and it's cleaner and more comfortable than pads.
The potential problems are mainly with insertion and leakage. It does take a little practice to get insertion, but my experience has been that after a while, it's on par with inserting a tampon (it's folded over on itself for insertion).
If the cup gets full, it will leak. For most women, this shouldn't be a problem, as the cup can hold the an (average) entire period's worth of fluids. My flow is usually over double that, so I find that I need to empty the cup at least three times a day, which is still less often than I would need to change pads / tampons.
I highly recommend this product. There are, however, other kinds of menstrual cups on the market. If the Diva Cup doesn't work for you, I would recommend trying another brand before giving up on the concept.

Comment: I received my product just as my period started so I got to use it right away. It took me two days to get the hang of how to put it in correctly without it leaking. It is great, its a hell of a lot easier to me than tampons you need carry with you everywhere. I don't use a purse so that was a problem for me. I'm glad I purchased this product. It is easy to maintain. I don't feel like I'm adding more trash to the earth. Very satisfied.

Summary: No good for heavy flow
Comment: I got this, and based on other reviews, on this website, and DivaCup's own website, it seemed like a no brainer.

However, my flow is very heavy the second and third days, and this thing filled up to capacity after just a couple hours. And when it's filled to capacity, it definitely leaks.

I much prefer tampons.
