Summary: Happened to me too.....
Comment: Received the wrong product. I ordered the one with a separate power supply, received the one that draws it's power from the xbox and voids the warranty. Sending it back. Was for a present!!! At least he knew the difference before we used it, now I can try and get the right one the second time around.

Summary: Intec Cooler pictured not the one received
Comment: Amazon is not selling the one pictured. Apparently Intec produces a self powered one and an Xbox powered one (powered by Xbox PS). It appears that most published posts do not recommend the coolers powered by the Xbox's PS only self powered ones. I have no idea what Intec is doing but they use the exact same model number which is G8648 and market 2 different units with the same number, my friend has the same number but it is self powered? The unit I just received is clearly marked 2008 on the box, my opinion is to stay away from anything using the Xbox's power and be careful when getting this one since you will not know what you are getting until you open the box. I am upset with Amazon's description and picture. I think it makes sense to have a cooler that is self powered and leave the power to the Xbox 360 alone. For clarification, I know what a NYKO is and this is NOT a NYKO it is an Intec with part number G8648 an does NOT have its own power supply it is clearly using the Xbox 360 PS, feel free to comment with your email address and I will happly email you a picture of the box and cooler it is Intec 100%.

Summary: No seperate power supply
Comment: I bought this because of the reviews stating that this had its own power supply. I have purchased several intercoolers they are all junk. I thought I would try this one since it was supposed to have its own power supply. NOT just like the intercooler. I just hope it does better than the other ones made just like this one. FYI does not look like the pic. It looks like the intercooler brand with the xbox power plug on the end. I am writing this review before my son puts this on his XBOX so will have to see what happens.

Summary: My review
Comment: From first word of the xbox 360's overheating and red lighting I looked for a solution to help cool the system. At first I bought myself a nyko intercooler and hacked off the power supply system and wired it to the wall it works but in the end its still hacked and somewhat unsafe if not wired properly. Then I found this one, which came in black! so I grabbed it. Ive only had it for a few days but so far it seems to be working pretty well. A bit louder than the nyko but I can deal with that because I believe its pulling alot more air.

Summary: Great little accessory
Comment: First off this product will not screw up your Xbox. Since it has its own power source it does not feed off the Xbox's power supply!

I was amazed by how much air this little guy gives off, it will definitely help keep my Xbox cooler. My one concern is how it will fit with my wireless adaptor, but we will see. Some reviewers on here have given this product a bad review, because they had mistaken this product for the Nyko Intercooler or like products. These have the ability to harm your Xbox because they indeed feed off the Xbox itself.

If you are worried about heat with your xbox 360 I would recommend this fully!
