Customer Reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Good, but the price??? Comment: My usual, every day, wear-to-work mascara is Shu Uemura Basic: gives a beautiful definition to lashes without ANY clumps. As much as I love Shu, however, it is not the mascara to use for lush, dramatic, sexy lashes. I have tried all kinds of mascaras from Maybelline to Dior, but I have never found one that I was completely satisfied with. Enter Guerlain, whose bronzers I love. I did think that the price was ridiculous for Le 2, but I couldn't resist trying it!
The good news: Le 2 will absolutely give you full, dramatic, curled lashes. I have it in black, and when I go out at night this mascara gives my blue eyes a huge boost. But I find that I need to be VERY careful about the clumping, "spidery" look I hate, so I have to tissue off a bit before applying. There are two sides, a larger one for major lashes and smaller one for those tiny inner/outer corner lashes. I actually like the smaller side better for all my lashes.
The bad news: thirty five dollars is silly expensive for mascara! I am usually quite willing to shell out the bucks for superior beauty products, but this is a bit much for what you get. Another problem is the packaging, which is a VERY long gold tube. It does not fit very easily into my makeup bag or even into my train case.
So, awkward size, silly price, and need to tissue lose Le 2 one star. But lovely lashes earn it four! I should also add that Le 2 stayed put (no flaking) and did not bother my contacts. A nice mascara but I'm still not sure if it is preferable to Diorshow (which is $10 cheaper!) Remember, if you get it from Sephora (even through the Amazon website) you can always return it, so it may be worth a try!
