Editorial Review:
Fox Searchlight Picture’s December 2007 coming-of-age comedy Juno, directed by Jason Reitman (Thank You For Smoking). The narrative centers on whip-smart Juno (Ellen Page, in a breakthrough role), a teenage girl faced with an unplanned pregnancy from an afternoon with the charmingly unassuming Bleeker (Michael Cera). Juno finds her unborn baby the perfect set of parents in Mark and Vanessa Loring (Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner), an affluent suburban couple who are eager to adopt. Along with the total support of her parents, (Allison Janney and J.K. Simmons) Juno conquers her problems head-on, displaying a youthful exuberance that is both smart and unexpected. The film was an official selection at this year’s Telluride, Toronto, and London film festivals and received the Best Film award at the Rome International Film Festival. The soundtrack to Juno mixes classic rock favorites with indie-rock gems.

Customer Rating: Summary: Fun, quirky...just like the movie! Comment: This is a fun soundtrack that evokes the feeling of the movie...an interesting mix of music with a quirky twist and airy feel. Many of the tunes have a folksy feel, but there's also a couple of good classics (the Kinks, Mott the Hoople, Buddy Holly) to balance it out. I happen to adore the opening credits tune (Barry Polisar's All I Want Is You) as it brings back childhood memories of other hilarious Polisar tunes like "Don't Stick Your Finger Up Your Nose" and "Early Sunday Morning" :-) If you enjoyed the movie, it's easy to enjoy the soundtrack even if many of the tunes aren't ones you might normally choose (at least that was the case with me). Customer Rating: Summary: We love it!! Comment: We enjoyed the movie very much and realized also, that we really liked the music. I put the cd in when I want to get in a good mood. It can't always be played around little ones, though, because of language in a few of the songs, which includes the f word in one song.
All in all, it is a light hearted happy cd and if you liked the movie, you will love the it like we do. I do wish that the words were included though, because some of the songs move quickly, and we would like to be able to sing them all.
Customer Rating: Summary: Unique Soundtrack Comment: I like this soundtrack. It's unique and fun to listen to. Many of the songs written are very political, yet still interesting. Customer Rating: Summary: Random Humming? Comment: This CD only had a few good songs. The rest of it, such as a track consisting entirely of random humming, was unprofessional and not the least bit entertaining. The movie was funny and held my attention, however the soundtrack was a sad disappointment. Customer Rating: Summary: A great listen! Comment: I love these natural, ordinary, rambling, breathless, profound songs. Some of them really surprize you with their depth. Others just make you smile.
