Comment: It takes about five minutes before it resembles the photo on the box indicating it's time for replacement. That's not 5 minutes of scrubbing a driveway or dirty dishes--it's 5 minutes of wiping a bathtub, sink, faucets, a wall and mirror! I'll NEVER buy this product again!

Summary: God's Gift to homes with children, pets or light colored surfaces
Comment: These disintegrating sponges, which are made in Germany and sold under other names there, are a godsend if you have dirt, scuff marks or stains to remove from hard surfaces. All you must do is dampen the sponge and rub it lightly over the dirty area. The sponge itself will slowly disappear as it removes dirt from painted walls, scuff marks from floors, and heaven knows what from my tub, tiles and sinks. In fact, there isn't a stain that stands up to the Magic Eraser, which really does live up to its name.

You have to make sure that the hard surface that you're trying to clean isn't too delicate for the Magic Eraser. I wouldn't use the thing on furniture or anything lacquered. There's a list on the package of materials that can't stand up to the very mild abrasive of the Magic Sponge, and I always test a new surface by gently scrubbing an inconspicuous spot and letting it dry. Then check for any scratches or dulling of the finish.

Despite that little caveat, these are so wonderful that I always make sure I have them in the house. I no longer have to use harsh chemicals to remove scuff marks from shoes or soap scum on our acrylic tub, which attracts dirt like a magnet. My cabinets and kitchen appliances are always in great condition, and even burnt on grease came right off my broiler pan. Now, if I could get the kids or the pets to do the actual cleaning, that really would be magic!

Comment: I am sure Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is nothing close to what it calls itself. Sure not worth the money even if it was less than a dollar.
