Take Indy's Adventures into Your Own Hands
Based on the film, which pits Indiana Jones against agents of the Soviet Union in the search for a crystal skull artifact, this set provides a narrative to inspire imaginative play. In addition to the mighty Jungle Cutter with its two gigantic, spinning blades, this set includes a make-shift hideout camouflaged by vines, trees that really break apart when the cutter plows through them, and plenty of jungle spiders. The detailed Indiana Jones figure comes complete with hat, whip, and bag, while Colonel Dovchenko and two Russian Guard mini-figures provide a threatening enemy presence.

Plus there's plenty of cool features to keep the set interesting. Just when it seems like Indy is doomed, you can push the lever on the back of the Jungle Cutter to pop the top pieces off and make it seem like Indy's rocket has caused a catastrophic explosion. Or turn the gear on the hideout to raise and lower the spider web.

Creating the Jungle Cutter
With eight bags containing 511 pieces and a colorful instruction booklet, the Jungle Cutter took our eight-year-old tester about three hours to construct. The process was challenging but not too difficult, with colorful step-by-step illustrations showing the way.

Overall, this set scores a fantastic rating for it's cool design elements. The fact that the blades on the Jungle Cutter turn as you roll the vehicle forward made it a huge hit. Another favorite feature was the sliding door that opens to reveal treasure stashed in a secret hiding place. And the battle between Indy and the Russians is fun to enact in different ways (all of which seem to end with a rocket blowing apart the Jungle Cutter).

Our tester really enjoyed the way the narrative of this set allowed him to construct follow-up scenes based on another set built around Indy's complicated escape from the Russians. As a nice bonus, these storylines are developed enough to make the sets fun whether your child has seen the new Indiana Jones movie or not. We also appreciate the way that Lego systems never limit imaginative play. All the cool hardware that makes up the Jungle Cutter can be used to build any structure or vehicle your child dreams up.

Comment: I bought this for my 8 year old cousin. He always loved the lego stuff where he has to do something before he sees the final result. This toy is really plays with your imagination as the parts are really innovative for a kid to figure out how to put them together. I saw my cousin really thinking it over and putting it together which was kind of cool to see. Also it gives them a forum to think about the so called puzzle. The quality of plastic is great. I always preferred Lego over mega blocks where the plastic is kind of cheap. So overall, its a great toy.

One thing your might be dissapointed about is, the video on Amazon website. It shows the toy planes flying, and the characters running to give this toy a life like experience. That does not happen in the real toy. Well, it was not supposed to be that way as that was a promotional video anyway. But its hard for kid to believe.

Summary: I lose all the little stuff, it is fustrating
Comment: I lose the little pieces, and that makes me mad.

The Jungle CUtter is super cool though, the blades actually turn. I needed my mom, well I asked my dad, but I needed my mom to figure out how to put the tire treads together. She's good at that stuff. So the cutter is awesome you need the trees to cut something down but they're just okay.

I got four lego dudes with this and a motorcycle - cool!

Summary: 4.5 stars, the little stuff is a nice perk, but the cutter is why you want this set,
Comment: This is a pretty decent set, the lego jungle cutter actually moves and the "blades" actually revolve. You get 4 characters with this set, a motorcycle, three trees, a little temple thingy, and some other little parts which I have no idea where they have gone off to now.

The cutter is really what you want in this set, it works! It was fun to put together, the treads for the tires was a small pain until mom and dad came to the building rescue. The characters are cool too.

You can actually play with the jungle cutter as well without worrying about it falling apart.

Comment: As with most of the Indiana Jones Lego sets this set was very fun to build. It has a lot of playability once it is built too. I got a second copy of this set just for all the good parts it has to use for building other things. A very good value set.
