Summary: poor operational performance
Comment: I bought the Swingline Speed Pro S7042130 which looks almost exactly like this model and is still for sale on amazon a couple of years ago. I staple about 3-4 things per day in my home office, usually 3 to 8 sheets max. First problem right out of the box was the depth adjustment (blue plastic with tabs) does not stay in set position, but moves back a bit every time the stapler is used. I had to put wads of paper behind both sides to keep it fixed in a normal position. The trigger is so sensitive that it often staples twice before you can pull the material back out. Thirdly, it often jams and locks the material in and you need to tear it to get it out. Finally last week it jammed and after getting the material out it would no longer work. I am back here on amazon to buy another stapler, and I see that they are still selling what appers to be the exact same model that I have. I couldn't resist writing a review. I would not buy this one again. When it works it's ok, but not worth the price.

Comment: My daughter teaches 2nd grade and I volunteer in her class. There is a LOT of stapling going on, we 'make books', etc.

This stapler is awesome. I gagged at the price at first, but would cheerfully pay it again. Its quiet and easy to use.

The top of the stapler holds ten full strips of staples. This may not seem important, but when you are stapling many items at once, its a real time saver.

The adjustable throat allows you staple at different depths. A handy feature.

A blinking light lets you know when you are down to your last 5 staples or so.

I would definitely stay with the staples suggested by Swingline.......they are standard and easily available. Do NOT use the cheapie wal mart brand. The price difference is negligible, and you will notice a distinct difference in performance.

All in all, a great, quiet product.

Summary: Wonderful stapler
Comment: This stapler is great!! The first thing I did when I got it was to see how many sheets it would actually staple. It really did staple 40! And it was much quieter than I expected. I have had no problems with it, even after doing a lot of stapling right in a row. Using regular staples, it is much more economical than the more pricey ones. An added bonus is the storage for the staples on the top of it.
