Summary: Three of his best songs
Comment: Chris Tomlin is one of the freshest and most moving voices in music today. He writes original worship and praise music that is uplifting, straightforward and very contemporary. On this album are three of his best songs. I suppose one could ask whether we need another version of "Amazing Grace." I do not ask that, because it is one of my favorite songs and I always like hearing new takes on it. Tomlin approaches it in a very simple, straightforward way, with minimal musical accompaniment. He adds some material, which I think fits in very well. The other two songs here -- "Uncreated One" and "Glory in the Highest" -- are new versions of previously recorded songs. These versions are relatively simple, with minimal accompaniment. They are very moving, very well done.
