Editorial Review:
From the guy who brought you Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin comes Superbad. Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera) want nothing more than to lose their virginity before they head off to college. To do that, though, they need to get liquor for the big party that night. With the help of their friend Fogell, a.k.a. McLovin (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), and his fake I.D., the three of them go on a hilarious chase for that elusive booze, dodging incompetent cops (Knocked Up's Seth Rogen and "Saturday Night Live's" Bill Hader), angry neighbors and jealous boyfriends.
Striking a balance between raunch and sweetness is a tall order for any film, but the Judd Apatow-produced Superbad manages to serve up both in equal and satisfying portions without undercutting a consistent stream of laugh-out-loud performances and gags. Michael Cera (the sublime George Michael Bluth from Arrested Development) and unstoppable scene-stealer Jonah Hill (Apatow's Knocked Up) are lifelong pals who attempt to make up for years of obscurity by getting into one blowout party before parting ways for college; an opportunity presents itself in the form of Hill's crush, the lovely Jules (Emma Stone), who wants the boys to bring liquor to her shindig. What follows is a combination road adventure and coming of age story as Cera and Hill tackle crazed partygoers, a pair of overeager cops (played by co-scripter and producer Seth Rogen and Saturday Night Live 's Bill Hader), and the hard truth about girls and their own emotional bond. The humor is crass and occasionally gross but never mean-spirited, and Cera and Hill offer believable performances as guys wholly unaware of their own potential, yet ready to risk humiliation in order to find out. They're well supported by a cast of Apatow regulars, including Kevin Corrigan, Martin Starr, David Krumholtz, and Carla Gallo (and Stone and Martha MacIsaac are terrific as their love interests), but the film is completely shoplifted by newcomer Christopher Mintz-Plasse as their uber-nerdy pal Fogell, whose fake ID handle is among the movie's funniest gags. Classic funk fans should also keep an ear out for the score by Lyle Workman, which features such James Brown and P-Funk veterans as Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrell, and Clyde Stubblefield. --Paul Gaita

Summary: A Great, Funny Film for young adults
Comment: Superbad is a comedy film that features 3 Seniors In Their Graduating year(Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Chris Plasse) All of which are in the mix with girls. Seth(Hill) who is on the hunt for a summer "fling" with his friend Jules(Emma Stone). Evan(Cera) is trying for his friend Rebecca(Martha MacIsaac). Fogell(Plasse) who actually isn't involved with anyone, just has the hots for school hottie Nicola. Seth is asked to provide alcoholic beverages for Jules party using $100 She gives him and the fake ID he said he was getting (It's actually Fogell that is getting the Fake ID) and from there we come to know the infamous McLovin alias and the group eventually ends up at the liquor store where Fogell ends up on the wrong end of a robbery and thats where We meet two carefree policeman (Seth Rogen and Bill Hader) They came to question Fogell about the incident, and Seth and Evan mistake it for the fact that he is being arrested for the Fake ID, and Seth construes another plan to get alcohol without the money Jules gave him. Its from there where many crazy moments happen and we go from getting hit by cars and blood stains to carrying beer in laundry detergent jugs. Superbad is packed with Vulgar Language, Comedy, and Entertainment but mostly Tons of laughs and has that Love/Hate thing to it. Im On the Love Side. As anyone with a simple shrewd taste in comedy should love. And Also the Unrated 2 Disc Additon has some great and Hilarious features. Im Not just lovin it, Im McLovin' It

Summary: This Is One Stinky Movie
Comment: After hearing all the hype, I decided to buy the Blu-ray version of Superbad without seeing it in the theater first. It was on sale so I figured, what the heck? Big mistake! This movie really stinks! I was expecting something more like Revenge Of The Nerds and all I got was this unfunny piece of garbage. Save your money on this one.

Summary: Supergood. Ho ho, has anyone said that yet?
Comment: Those cops were funny, weren't they? I mean, really funny. This film is a sad indictment of the archaic alcohol laws you have there in the Land of the Free. Here in Ireland, the milkman brings around liquor(or "drink" as we call it here) and delivers it to your door (if you pay in advance). Have you learned nothing in the last 300 years? Sigh.

Summary: Super Fwackn Hilarious!!!
Comment: Oh my god this movie is funny. This movie is funny without the aid of funny enhancers! Superbad made me laugh so hard that my abs hurt when I left the theater the first time AND it was the first movie since the OG Terminator that I went to see twice...

Director Greg Mottola had done nothing except TV until this movie. It leaves BIG SHOES...His next picture Adventureland is due out in 2009. Lets hope that he is not a "Billy Walsh" because I want to wet my pants on this next one.
