Editorial Review:
The Babyproofers are three women who wouldn't trade their roles as mothers for anything, and they love their husbands deeply. But after living through it and hearing the stories of hundreds of other couples, they know that with young children in the house, you need to block the stairs with baby gates, put plastic covers over the outlets, AND take the necessary steps to safeguard your marriage.
Babyproofing Your Marriage is the warts-and-all truth about how having children can affect your relationship. The transition to parenthood can be a tough adjustment for any couple, but the good news is: you are not alone. Better yet, there are hundreds of simple but effective ways you can stay connected as husband and wife and still be good parents. The authors' evenhanded approach to both sides of the marital equation allows spouses to understand each other in a whole new way. With loads of humor, compassion, and practical advice, the Babyproofers will guide first-time parents and veterans alike around the rocky shores of the early parenting years.

Customer Rating: Summary: MUST READ for anyone with kids, thinking of kids, or if you know someone with them! Comment: This book has already gotten so many positives reviews that there is not much for me to add. I have already purchased THREE copies and all of them are lent out to someone I know!
I will repeat what others have said and tell you to read this if for no other reason but so that you will feel NORMAL. It was so refreshing and comforting to know that EVERY couple is going through this.
And the pie chart at the end showing how much of our marriage is comprised of "A$$ Kicking (by under 3 yr olds)" is such a small part of the years we have together!
It was so eye-opening and so well written and can be humorous as it teaches...just wonderful. :-) Yes, it does lean a bit towards our point of view, but that is to be expected with THREE WOMEN AUTHORS. Also, i will agree that the middle was a bit depressing (but let's all admit...sometimes life with 2 in diapers can be depressing and overwhelming!!) but the beginning and end both made me tear up with the quotes from people who have made it. Who have been where I am now and survived.
THANK YOU Stacy, Cathy, and Julia. My happy marriage and happy family owe you three big time!! Customer Rating: Summary: More sex------- more help with the kids and the house? Comment: Do men only want sex? Reading this book, well actually I read the summary from parentsdigest, which I'm glad I did because it seems rather repetitive.... I got the idea that the only way to get my husband's help and attention with the kids is more sex. Are they right???
Customer Rating: Summary: Just wait and see..... Comment: I find it funny that most of the people who gave this book a negative rating are the ones that have no children or are pregnant with their first. They really have no idea how it really is until it really happens. This book is honest and direct. They don't sugar coat what really can happen to your marriage after children. I think it's an excellent book and gives some excellent ideas of how to "keep it together". Customer Rating: Summary: Loved It! Comment: Fabulous book for anyone raising kids! I laughed until it hurt. It certainly provides an honest look at reality - and what everybody goes through - with a wonderful sense of humour. I bought extra copies to give all my friends for Christmas.
Customer Rating: Summary: Baby Gift given to Bed Rest Pregnant Mom-to-Be Comment: The service was excellent. The Mom-to-Be is on Bedrest so has time to
read and strengthen her marriage as she anticiptes becoming a parent.
Prevention is important as couples become parents.
