Summary: looks great and works well for me
Comment: Not sure why this unit is getting such a bad rap. I've had it for a week and used it about 30 times without a hitch. I understand that with all digital monitors, you must make an effort to sit properly and not move or talk while it's doing its thing to get an accurate reading. My only concern at this point is that it's properly calibrated. I will have my doc check it the next time I go.

Pros:
Good looking modern design displaying time and temperature encourages you to set it out where you will see it and remember to use it.

Simple interface is very easy to use. Three "zones" allow you to seperate your morning, afternoon and evening tests, or let 2 other people use it. Each zone stores up to 80 readings.

The included computer software lets you offload your data to create a running history of your readings. This is extremely important and one of the main reasons I purchased this unit. The software is basic but servicable.

Cons: None that I have found with the unit, really. The tube connecting to the cuff could be longer. My only gripe is I wish it allowed attaching comments to the reading. The software does not allow this either, which is really inexcusable. This way one could note the day's conditions that might be affecting the reading, stress, caffeine, etc.

Comment: I like the features, interface, etc. Definitely use at least a 3-test average though. The larger of the 2 cuffs was DOA, would not inflate. I got this at a big discount but it is still not worth the trouble.

Comment: I purchased this yesterday. As another reviewer said, I have always had very good luck with Samsung products, unfortunately this unit changed that. The FIRST one I got did not work out of the box. I even called Samsung's customer service line, and after 40 minutes on the phone they determined my unit was defective (it could not inflate the cuffs). My second unit had the exact same problem. My reason for choosing this unit was the PC software included, but I will be returning #2 shortly to get a unit that does not have that.

Summary: It works but.....
Comment: I bought this monitor because of the price and features.

I had trouble with the cuff initially and seriously considered returning the unit. However, I like the features and thought I'd give it another chance.

Using the cuff from an old manual pump model, it worked better. The pump seemed to work more efficiently, and fewer erroneous incidents occurred.

Then, I used the 5-test and 3-test averaging feature, using the included cuff and the old cuff. Results were similar, within 5 digits.

Then, I reinstalled the old cuff on the old unit and performed the same tests. Comparing these values to the previous ones, all were within 5 digits.

This unit is most accurate when using the averaging feature. I don't think it's good for a person in a hurry. If you have the time to spend taking multiple tests (the wait time is adjustable from 60 to 180 seconds in between tests) this machine will work for you.

Software is provided to download and edit BP and pulse data onto a computer. Features include editing, printing and charting data. The software will chart trends, averages and more. This is my first day and I'm not totally familiar with all features.

This model also displays the time and ambient temperature in farenheit with 1.75" digits and the date and temperature in celsius with smaller digits. As others have stated, plugging in the included power supply will cause the memory for these features to revert to their initial values, but this does not affect stored BP data.

I'm keeping my model, mostly because of the software; but may use the old cuff, or a new replacement.

Samsung provides a toll free technical help line and the item has a lifetime warranty.

Summary: Unable to get readings
Comment: I purchased this product becuase I need the large cuff, and I've had good luck with other Samsung products in the past.
Unfortunately, I got "error" readings on about 9/10 attempts. I read and re-read the manual, thinking I was doing something wrong, but I finally decided that the unit is just defective or poorly designed and returned it. I got an Omron with the large cuff and have had absolutely zero problems getting a good reading on the first try.
There is something wrong with the design of this unit, buy something else unless you need an additional source of blood-pressure raising aggravation in your life.
