Customer Rating: Summary: NICE LOOK...POOR DESIGN Comment: FEEDER LOOKS BEAUTIFUL AND IS EXTREMELY WELL MADE, BUT POORLY DESIGNED IF YOU MEAN FOR THE BIRDS TO FEED. IT DOES OKAY FOR CHICKADEES AND SMALL FINCHES, BUT THE POOR CARDINALS HAVE TO BE TRUE ACROBATS TO GET A SUNFLOWER SEED. THERE IS LITTLE OR NO DRAINAGE, SO YOU HAVE TO BE DILIGENT ABOUT DRYING IT OFF AFTER A SHOWER. HOWEVER, WITH THAT SAID, FOR LESS THAN $8.00 IT WAS A GOOD BUY. Customer Rating: Summary: birds hate it!! Comment: i agree with donna... very poor design. i filled it 5 days ago and its still full. the birds just dont like it. Customer Rating: Summary: Cute Design as long as you don't really want to feed birds! Comment: I was really pleased with how this looked and it was a great price...BUT!....it's a very poor design for a bird feeder. First, there's no real place for the birds to sit. It looks like there is, but the globe sticks out farther than the "perch" area so it's not possible for a bird to sit and eat. Next, the middle post unscrews at both ends, so when trying to unscrew the top part it comes apart at the bottom. This isn't a problem when filling, but a HUGE problem when it's full and you have to open and clean due to rain. Finally, after it rains the food becomes a solid smelly mess that completely blocks the openings, and in the process of trying to clean out this packed in wet bird food the globe cracked. So, in a very short time, this whole mess ended up in the garbage and the bird food is all on the groud so the birds can eat it. Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful and useful Comment: I love the Strathwood line of products, which I have just recently discovered. This birdfeeder is considerably less money at just over $10 than many similar feeders made of plastic. This one is sturdy and made of beautiful iron and glass. As a bonus, the squirrels may climb on it, but they will not be able to eat their way through it.
