Customer Rating: Summary: Braun Oral B Toothbrush Comment: My electric toothbrush ceased to operate so thus began the quest for a new one. I was very excited to see that I only needed to replace the toothbrush and not the whole unit (charger). The whole process was simple and quick. My toothbrush arrived when expected. Great experience. Customer Rating: Summary: Braun Oral-B Plak Control Ultra Comment: Bought my first Braun Oral-B Plak Control Ultra toothbrush about five years ago at the advice of my dentist, as he said the oscillating action was good to not only brush the teeth, but that it would scrub away plaque from between teeth and along gum lines better than my old 'up-and-down' electric or regular toothbrushes.
It lasted about a month before it wouldn't take a charge, so I contacted Braun and they immediately sent out a replacement Braun 7040-076 Oral B Toothbrush Ultra Power Handle w/Timer... and this one is still working quite well to this day, and is in daily use by both my son and me. When you're using it, a pulsing signal after two minutes will indicate that you've reached the recommended brushing time, which is good for both children and sleepy adults first thing in the morning.
As with regular toothbrushes, most dentist say to replace the heads about every three months, and the blue indicators on the brushes will fade to let you know that it's getting close to time. The only problem with these is finding the correct replacement heads in local drug and grocery stores, and their high prices may surprise you. They're called 'Precision Clean' (the new name for 'Flexisoft') and should be marked 'EB17'. You can get them here as well:
Keep your eye open on the prices, as they do seem to vary quite a bit. Some are sold by vendors, but shipping may be free and marked 'Fulfilled by Amazon'. You can also search here for 'eb17', 'precision clean', or 'flexisoft' and you should be able to find them.
ALERT: It should be noted that (along with other brands of electric toothbrush heads) there are counterfeit Oral-B heads on the market, and they may be hard to spot, though the Oral-B logo seems to wipe off on some of them. They're usually marked "Flexisoft" and have German and/or Chinese writing on them, and can break in two days to two weeks. This does not apply to the 'tingletip' which is a separate item altogether, and not used as a toothbrush.
Speaking of brush heads, when you replace your Oral-B brush, don't just throw it out. Keep it and use it for effortlessly cleaning or polishing small items such as jewelry.
Customer Rating: Summary: Glad to get a replacement! Comment: When my old toothbrush died suddenly, I thought I'd have to replace the entire system. Much to my surprise, I found that I could purchase just the power handle. The product shipped fast and works great. Customer Rating: Summary: Better than the original Comment: Replacement handle is more powerful than the original. The timer feature is nice also, but it's at the expense of not having a power indicator light any longer. Customer Rating: Summary: Jerry's Braun electric toothbrush review Comment: ORAL-B TOOTHBRUSH VITALITY SONIC CLEAN
The power toothbrush works great, cleans teeth very well. The
on-off swich operates much better than the older model.
