Customer Rating: Summary: Better Than Expected Comment: I'm please with this purchase of clam chowder soup excellent soup, I heat it in the microwave then pour into a bowl, add a few potato and herb, than I have it as a meal. My family like it so well I'm order another package. Customer Rating: Summary: Too Watery Comment: Too Watery to be Soup.
Nothing there to chew, not even little things.
Very Watery. Customer Rating: Summary: Best One-Minute Chowder money can buy Comment: When I bought this chowder I expected it to taste great. Let me tell you, I was not dissapointed. With the price of gas and other expenses these days I needed an affordable solution for lunch at my job. I looked for this on the shelves at local grocery stores but kept coming up empty handed. As always I knew that Amazon.com would save the day, now as i said above I knew it would taste good, but it was better than good you will not find a better chowder for the price, its affordable, durable, you can prepare it in literally one minute(very important if you have a desk job), and best of all it tastes good!
Customer Rating: Summary: I approach chowder nirvana Comment: I like Campbell's Chunky New England Clam Chowder for two basic reasons: I like what it has, and I like what it does not have.
What It Has That I Like: Campbell's Chunky New England Clam Chowder has a rich, creamy broth, lots of potato chunks, lots of clams, and just enough salt. This soup cooks just fine in a microwave, and there is no reason why cooked vegetables could not be added in, to turn this into a complete meal. It is also available in a microwaveable plastic bowl container. Bottom line on this topic: Yum!
What It Does Not Have, In A Good Way: I have a weird diet, as my body rejects, in different ways, to a variety of foods. I am allergic to most seafood, but not to clams, crab, tuna, or salmon. As I have never had an allergic reaction to Campbell's Chunky New England Clam Chowder, I believe it contains real clams, and no other seafood. I also react badly to onions, peas, and mushrooms, and this soup contains none of these. If you think it is easy to find a canned soup that does not contain onions, try it some time, but leave yourself a lot of time for this task. And, while I do not have diverticulitis, I have other conditions that require me to follow the diet necessitated by diverticulitis. Campbell's Chunky New England Clam Chowder contains no seeds, nuts, or corn. Bottom line on this topic: This soup is a kindler, gentler soup.
What It Could Have and Be Even Better: There once was a restaurant in Lakeville, Michigan, called Lester's. They had the best New England style clam chowder I ever had. It resembled Campbell's Chunky New England Clam Chowder in many ways, except it had carrots, celery, and green beans in it. If Campbell's Chunky New England Clam Chowder had those vegetables, it would be perfect. Bottom line for this topic: One step from chowder perfection.
