Medical Products Online - Basic TENS System Primarily used for managing chronic pain. Works by blocking the pain signal, and by increasing endorphins in the body. Can be worn all day or on an as needed basis. Device features include adjustable pulse rate, pulse width, and amplitude (intensity). Placements of electrodes are usually at pain site or along the nerve channels, called dermatomes.

Summary: Basic TENS SYstem
Comment: Reduces my shoulder pain for hours, sometimes days. Works well on my shoulder because I don't have too much padding. My husband didn't get full effect, since he has thicker insulation (OK, FAT) up there. If you don't have much between your skin and the painful muscles, this cheaper model works really well. If you have more padding, go for the stronger models.

Summary: Too slow with Delivery
Comment: when you are in a business of health care, you must understand that people are in pain. This company does not seem to understand that. I ordered this product for my poor father who was in great shingles pain, and 2 days later I called they still had not shipped the item. They gave me an option to pay 2 day air so I paid additional money to get it shipped 2 day air, it still didn't come with the 2 Day air promised. I desparatedly searched locally for one so my dad could use. One week later the item arrived, we didn't need it any more. They charge a restocking fee when it was their fault we didn't get the item in time. My expedited shipping was a waste.

Summary: Why No Non Latex Pads?
Comment: I owned one years ago, but was forced to stop due to an allergy to the pads. Pads caused sores from constant use. Latex free is needed. I do ask why they don't make any free of latex?
An extra battery is very important for daily usage. They were a bit pricey. Pads last longer if you can avoid removing them when not in use. One variety of pads have to be taped, as the pads fall off!
The unit sends various sensations through the electrodes. From the feeling of a toy car against your skin, and steady tap to less pleasant feelings. Not sure of this model but mine also offered a random setting. I would advise users to avoid this setting, or start with the lowest #. This would be best with whatever setting you choose. If you can stand it, the good can out weigh the bad.
