Comment: My mom gave me a tube of this cream a year ago, and it has turned into the one "must have" in my nighttime routine. It feels so luxurious going on, and the scent seems to instantly relax me. The valerian root and lavender are the perfect combination to induce relaxation. I hope Earth Therapeutics never stops making this!

Summary: Lathering up for sweet dreams
Comment: I have struggled with insomnia as part of my CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) for over ten years. Now that I am mostly healed, I'm surprised by my continued intermittent insomnia..well, actually, frustrated by it. Throughout this journey, I've used countless remedies, some working, some not, but ultimately have found nothing seems to work consistently. There are just too many factors in sleep disturbances, some of which are overlooked or forgotten. However, when it comes to getting results, the one bottle I used of dream zone (was called 'liquid pajamas' when I used it) helped me immensely. Not only did I sleep well, but the relaxing effects and the scent of lavendar enhanced my experience. Living in a particularly dry climate, lotion is great to lather on regularly. I agree with the recommendation to take a hot bath, shower, or hot tub and follow with this lotion. I prefer baths because you can really relax, connect to the body, and slow down--all of which helps sleep. So much of my sleep issues stem from stress. I know I'm not the exception here. Also, food sensitivities, poor food choices, inadequate natural light, not taking time to transition to calm, and so many factors, that I bet are true for most people, affect sleep. And yet, sleep is immensely important to well-being, health, rejuvenation, reducing stress, and even maintaining healthy weight! While having a great product as this lotion to help me with sleep, it's also imperative that I go after the roots and play health detective so I can address the real cause. I would still think this lotion would be very helpful for relaxation and self-care even when the sleep is returned to a regular pattern. While lavendar is known for it's relaxing qualities, valerian is frequently taken internally for sleep. It seems that taking valerian through the skin is actually more efficient then, say, taking it by capsule. This way the substances bypass the digestive tract and can go directly into the bloodtsream allowing it to be transported where it's needed.
In my experience, this lotion is very fast-acting, and yet subtle. Yes, I recommend it highly, especially until you can figure out the root cause of your sleep problems. Until then, hopefully this will help you.
