Comment: A beach on Ko Samui. A bikini-clad waitress brings you a coconut, then produces a machete. "Pour vous, monsieur," she says, bringing the blade down upon the coconut with a raunchy thwack that strangely excites you. Why did she speak French? You don't care. She unwraps a straw, and places it gingerly into the coconut. "Merci," you say, confused. You didn't order a coconut. Even so, as you sip the sweet sweet milk, the sound of the waves remind you of an old lullaby, and you close your eyes, adrift in the warmth of the setting sun.

You open your eyes. You are in your apartment in Brooklyn. Was it all a dream? You are holding a 14-ounce unit of Thai Kitchen Pure Coconut Milk. Eleven units remain--maybe it wasn't a dream, after all.

Comment: A very watery, toned down version. Very smooth, because there are no solids like there should be. Go to the trouble to buy Chaokoh if you want real flavor.

Comment: I don't write many reviews, but I just received my shipment and opened up a can, as I am making peanut butter pork and needed some more coconut milk. I had ordered the Natural Select brand before, which was okay. But this is so good, that I am eating it out of the can. I have an Asian cookbook that rates this as the best coconut milk on the market, and I would have to agree. Keep this one in stock and you'll have a loyal customer for life!!

Comment: I just made the coconut ginger chicken soup last night using this brand and it is so good on these cold evenings. I have a feeling I will be going through this case quickly as I love the coolness of the coconut milk mixed with the Thai spices, such a treat to have it in your own kitchen.
