Summary: Best for oily or acne-prone skin
Comment: As many of the reviewers have commented, it has become difficult (not impossible) to find on store shelves. My best source has been in the Seattle, WA area; not convenient when you your main residence is in Chicago area.

I've tried other products, and have on occassion ran out and had to go back to other brands. Within a day I can tell the difference - my skin is oily, blackheads appear and I feel a general sense of not feeling as clean. Within 24hrs I'm back to my old, clean self. I wish they made a body shampoo!

Summary: Won't clear up acne
Comment: I used to use proactive & prescription acne cream & my doctor told me that I should get an antibacterial soap for my face to help get rid of my acne. I saw the reviews on this site and bought this soap. I stopped using the proactive & my prescription face cream (which both stain my pjs and bedclothes & can get pricey & time consuming) and started using this soap (in the a.m. & p.m.) and my acne got worse. That was after about 1-2 weeks. Now it's been about 4-5 weeks. My acne is better but it's still slightly there and it doesn't look as good as it was when I used proactive & my prescription. I'm hoping that with time the soap will start working better. I have 7.5 bars left so I might as well use them. Anyway, don't expect this soap to clear up your acne right away. Then again, everybody's skin is different so who knows.

Summary: Discolored Basis "Clear" Soap Bars
Comment: My family has been using Basis Clear soap for years. When I found them on Amazon a few weeks ago I bought an "8 Pack." They were not shipped in an "8 Pack" but as individual bars. Every bar was discolored. I called the manufacturer. The rep wouldn't say why the bars were brown but they agreed to replace them all free of charge. And asked me to return two bars for analysis in their quality control department. I asked the rep if they were harmful to sensitive skin. She checked with someone and said they were not.

Summary: Clear Skin
Comment: My dermatologist recommended this soap for me as a teenager. I have used it every day since then and my skin is clear and radiant. My husband loves it because it cleard up the acne on his back. My 13 year old daughter loves it as well. The acne on her face has disappeared. Rarely can I find this soap in the drug store anymore, but it is always available on Amazon.com.

Summary: Basis AllClear Soap works
Comment: I used to be a guinea pig at the drug store,constantly looking for that magic lotion,mask or cream which promised a lot but never seemed to work.
Not stricken with bad enough skin to warrant the 40 bucks for Proactiv or rich enough for my own dermatologist,I really was at the mercy of the over the counter menagerie of products.They kept coming but nothing really worked.
Finally, years ago I was lucky enough to find this product.Each bar usually costs about 2 to 3 dollars and lasts months.
That is value.I haven't found another mere bar of soap that can do what this one does.If you have hyper sensitive skin I recommend this soap.
If you also have dry skin you'll need to moisturize after washing with it but who doesn't use a moisturizer,anyway?
When I stopped being able to find it in drug stores (and I live in New York surrounded by drug stores where ever I go) I found it online and ordered the 8 pack so I won't have to go looking for it for a good long while.Saved me a lot of stress which isn't good for the skin,you know.
