Summary: Probably Good for Heart, Brain, and Bones
Comment: Ingestion of Omega-3 fatty acids , including Fish Oil, may diminish the risk of heart trouble. According the the FDA, there is scientific evidence to defend this claim, the evidence is not conclusive. Omega-3 fatty acids are more concentrated in the human brain than in other parts of the body.

There is documented evidence that they can relieve depression. An article today, July 22, 2008, on the Today Show explained the way this supplement can alleviate depression.

There is some anecdotal evidence that Omega-3 fatty acids can improve the joint range of motion and lessen the pain of those suffering with osteoarthritis. I have this problem, and when I fail to take it, the problem gets worse.

These statements are not written to take the place of any medical advice that your personal physician may give you.

I take Nature Made Omega-3 Fish Oil every day because I believe it can benefit my health. These capsules go down well. Although other people have told me that it causes them to burp fish oil, I've never had that problem.

The dosage directions are as follows: Take one to two softgels two times daily with a meal. Keep bottle tightly closed. Store in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children. I take only two per day because I take Nature Made Flaxseed Oil Softgels, 1000 mg, 180-Count Bottles (Pack of 2) also. The softgel capsules are easy to swallow.

The ingredients are Fish Oil Concentrate, Gelatin (non-bovine), Glycerin, Water, Tocopherol. Contains: Fish (Anchovy, Sardine, Mackerel) and Soy.

Here are the important precautions: If you are pregnant or nursing, taking medication, facing surgery, have bleeding problems, or undergoing any other treatment which may affect the ability of blood to clot, consult your physician before taking this product. Do not use if imprinted seal under cap is broken or missing.

It would be better to consume large amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids in oily fish than to take supplements, but the price of salmon is skyrocketing. Also there are concerns about the contamination of some fish products.

I hope you find this review useful.

Summary: Good stuff.
Comment: I take two every day. I don't know but my hair seems to be getting more full and thicker, that's a plus. Omega-3 is a very important supplement, everyone should take it.

Summary: rancid oil
Comment: Biting in to the jell cap I found that there was little or no fish oil! And the oil that was in it is rancid.
This one is going back.

Summary: Great Product!
Comment: As I've gotten older my skin and hair have been getting dryer. When I first started taking this I wasn't sure if my skin and hair texture improvement was coincidental - maybe some other reason it was improving. I stopped taking the Fish Oil and my skin and hair started drying out again. I now take Fish Oil regularly. I don't know if there are other benefits besides the skin and hair but those are enough for me.

Summary: A Great Dietary Supplement for a Number of Reasons
Comment: More and more studies indicate that a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids promotes a variety of health benefits: cholesterol management, cardiovascular maintenance, and possibly even improved brain function. My doctor debunked a number of popular dietary supplements (e.g. flaxseed, soy) but unequivocably supported the addition of a fish oil supplement to my diet. Everyone's condition is different, so obviously consult with your physician before undertaking any change in your fitness routine.

Nature Made makes a very good supplement. They use only wild ocean fish so the concentration of omega-3 is much higher than in grain-fed farm-raised fish. My doctor also indicated that this was an important distinction. The capsules are large, but easy enough to take with a little water. I don't even get the "fish burps" that many others have complained about (but in case you do, they also make a slow-release capsule that is intended to further guard against that).

Finally, for those concerned about levels of mercury or other pollutants in the fish products that they consume, Nature Made is certified by the independent USP labs. [...]
