Summary: Works Great on the Mac with Wiretap
Comment: I can't speak to the Windows experience, but I can assure you this little USB microphone gets the job done on the Mac. There's no white noise hiss and the recordings is plenty loud and warm. I use Wiretap for most of my recordings, but I don't need to do any post-production work to remove hiss or pop. Buy it.

Summary: Good for the application; picks up too much "air"
Comment: Have had the mic for two days (just long enough to not return to Guitar Center).

The good: It does just what I needed it to: it is truly easy, plug and play with Camtasia, and does not crash my Dell Latitude notebook. I needed a mic for a very specific application: I am recording training sessions and the trainer-speaker is across the country. Their voice is projecting via a LifeSize videoconferencing 'disc' and I am capturing their screen via Glance. I point this mic at the disc and the audio captured is quite decent. Is it better than a $20 desktop mic? Not sure... It's not superb, but it is OK.

The bad: I'm in a quiet room and you can hear so much AIR!!! I will probably have to do my final recordings with a blanket over myself, the mic, my computer, and the disc to get the sound to be more contained-sounding. My partner, hearing my voice recorded for the first time, couldn't tell that it was me. Then we did another test with my daughter in my lap. It seemed to like that--the variety of mother voice with daughter voice. Weird, go figure... but still, lots of "air" sound.

Trying to figure out how to turn down the amount of ambient noise it's attuned to... wish they'd had a unidirectional USB mic @ Guitar Center yesterday...

Comment: When I look at reviews i want to make sure it does what I want it to do better then anything out there for the price I am paying. Well... I tested this Mic here and let me tell you it is GREAT! Okay so here is what I do. I am incharge of making video promos for a company and doing voice overs. Now, I did not have a lot to spend, but the mics you get from your local mart seemed to have a fuss noise with recording. You can hear the air I like to say. Okay, you can work with it and get it to come out, but your looking at some time. Now! I like to get loud and my other peers are sometimes quite, This microphone is perfect, no noise distrotion at all! Clear amazing sound quiallity you come to find listening normal. Made a radio broadcast and I asked how they liked it and people commented on what was said rather then how it was said! Best compliment I could get. bad side? yes there is one! If you like to chat to your friend on the internet this microphone is not the one your looking for. Have to have it held to your lips for someone to hear you on it for some reason. A pain if you ask me, but most web cams have a mic on it anyway. OHh ya almost forgot! My friend asked me to record some of his (very Loud) music for him. Had set up some very expensive mics and guess what came out the best!? Thats right this Blue Microphone. Picked up highs and lows and didnt sound like someone sucking the end of the mic either ( you know what I mean )! STupid stand too. I put it on a real mic stand!

Comment: I use this to record my podcast and it's been great. I specifically wanted a USB powered mic so I wouldn't have to have a bunch of plugs to deal with. I don't think a USB powered microphone is for everyone but it was perfect for the simple setup I wanted. It has great sound and I use it with my MacBook Pro & GarageBand. One thing I always forget is to change my audio input in GarageBand before I start recording.
