Summary: Better Tea
Comment: I love this tea. I am a long-time tea drinker, and purchased tea bags for longer than I want to count (or think about). A couple of years ago I decided to go for it...make loose tea, and deal with mess of leaves. And yes, I did know about strainers and tea balls, but I live in no man-s land. If it isn't prepackaged, it's unfit to ingest according to the natives. Good utensils are hard to find.

I finally found a wonderful BIG mesh tea ball. Ahhh, a tea drinker's best friend, right after a good English teapot.

The mesh ball in question is like the one sold here as a rule, by the way.

Tea is now a breeze to make, and absolutely delicious.

The loose packaged tea put out by Lipton is wonderful. It has a beautiful taste, unlike their teabags, which can be very iffy. I've had some that tasted like floor sweepings.

This loose tea seems amazingly consistent in flavor. I recommend it without reservation. And isn't Amazon just lovely...? They'll bring it right to your door. How much more could you ask?

Earlier I mentioned an English teapot. I favor Sadler's because of the excellent glaze, and the good material they use in the functional brown teapots they make.

A good teapot matters. Get yourself one, a nice tea ball, and some Lipton Loose tea and you will likely never use teabags again. If the tea is too strong, do it the way it's done in England; keep a very lightly boiling kettle going, and dilute with boiling water to your taste.

Summary: Hooray!
Comment: My Italian grandmother got me hooked on Lipton Loose Tea as a child. Tea is important to me- I never have gotten into coffee. It has been increasingly more difficult to find Lipton Loose in supermarkets, so I have tried to find something to replace it- more expensive, "fancier" teas just aren't as good. This is a great product- sooo much better than tea bags. We like it hot &/or iced. People always ask me "What kind of tea is this?" and then are so surprised to find out that it is good old reliable Lipton. Tea lovers- don't be snobs! Give Lipton Loose Tea a try. Thanks Amazon for carrying this product!

Comment: This is my third order of Lipton loose Tea. It isn't easy to find in our local stores, so I really like to be able to depend on Amazon to provide this product for me. Excellent product and service and recommend this all.

Summary: Boxed Nostalgia
Comment: Lipton Loose Tea, Lipton Loose Tea, 8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6), is a reminder of the way things were when I was a little child. My mother, all her sisters, my grandmother, and all our friends considered Lipton Loose Tea to be TEA. There was no other for them. I grew up thinking anything else was an "off" brand. (Lipton Tea is America's favorite tea.)

In the South most people make it sweet. They add the sugar while it is hot so less sugar is required. Now I prefer to use Splenda (SPLENDA No Calorie Sweetener Granular, 9.7-Ounce Resealable Bags (Pack of 2)) and lemon juice. This tea has a strong black-tea taste. It is robust and pure.

When I moved across the Mississippi River, I was shocked to discover that people in Louisiana drink their tea three times as strong as they do in Mississippi. I think one reason my people liked Lipton Loose Tea so much was that we had very little money and we had to make things go as far as possible. It was always a good bargain. Almost any kind of tea is an excellent bargain.

Nutritonally it is outstanding. It is a means of hydrating, which is considered important. (Always hydrate responsibly: don't drink too much! You would not want to drown.) Also it is an excellent source of flavonoids, which provide antioxidants. A glass of tea has about half as much caffeine as a cup of coffee. Since the ingredients vary with different practices, it is difficult to estimate the amount of caffeine.
Some caffeine can help many people.

On my blog, which you can find at Flavored with Love: Mary Lou's Family and Friends Can Cook, I talked about my mother's tea and all the spread she used to make when she took food to church for dinner on the grounds. The name of the blog entry is "Myrtle's Stuffed Eggs."

About stains -- it is helpful to brush and polish your teeth immediately after enjoying this wonderful tea. Also, you can clean glasses, pitchers, etc., with baking soda. One more tip is to drink with a straw to try to avoid getting so much of the liquid on your front teeth. (I do this, but I don't think it helps much.)

I hope you found this review helpful.

Summary: Great Iced tea!!!
Comment: My family and I have been using this tea for over 40 years. I make the best unsweetened tea I've ever had with this tea, and get many many compliments on it. If you use good water, this tea will last for a day or two without refrigeration, which changes it's flavor. I am in South Texas and we take our tea very seriously down here. This strong, brisk, hearty brew is just the thing on a hot summer afteroon. I haven't experienced stained teeth or other ill effects, either. Using a drip coffee maker to brew it keeps it from overheating and getting bitter. It's healthy, too, with plenty of antioxidants in it's orange/black pekoe blend. If you try it and it's too strong, tinker with your recipe. Once you get the ratio right, you'll find it is delicious.
