Customer Rating: Summary: So far 2 haven't worked the way it should Comment: I have a first generation sylvania dvd recorder that can record up to 8x, and yet these discs (for which I had high hopes for since I had bought the older memorex 4x dvd-rs way back when that came with a regular sized dvd case did work flawlessly) these discs, just didn't work. They look nice and everything coming with the newer slimline dvd cases, but yeah they didn't seem to work with my player. Maybe because its older, who knows. I caution you on buying this , or maybe it will work better with newer recorders. But these were supposed to work I mean it says 4x on it.
I have 8 left , I'm not gonna use these right now. I'll buy a newer recorder and see if it does the same thing. Customer Rating: Summary: does not work on older DVD burners as reviewed Comment: I have a LiteOn 9016G burner that used to do a terrific job of burning almost any DVD. However the disc manufactures have appeared to have changed the dye from a deep magenta to a light purple which burn at higher speeds bat are recognized only as invalid discs and will not burn on my burner, as well as on many other older burners. I bought this blank DVD, at a much higher price than the bulk rate for the new DVDs, just for this reason that it was supposed to burn on these older burners. It does not work! Do not buy this. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Alternative DVD Comment: For all of you that still have what I generally call a "1st generation" dvd recorder that will not accept the higher speeds blank media(8x - 16x), the DVD-R Write-Once blanks will work very well. I have an old Emerson recorder that seems to only accept Memorex media. It burns DVD-RW blanks at 2x speed and DVD-R's at 4x speed; so I was literally left out in the cold when Memorex discontinued these speeds. But luckly I was able to find these DVD-R 4x Write-Once blanks that work perfectly. Luckily, AntOnline had them. Thanks once again to Amazon.com for providing a much needed service as a source for the sometimes difficult to find products.
