Summary: Cheaply made
Comment: This is a very cheaply made damper for older range venting systems that still have a 7" round vent pipe. Unlike the included rectangular damper, this one (not included in my Broan range hood) has no insulation between metal parts and thus is very noisy as the vented air passes through. Now we're forced to go through the extra time and expense of adapting the round pipe to the rectangular damper.

Summary: Good quality damper.
Comment: This duct damper adds an inexpensive but effective backflow preventative device for the Broan Allure series 7" dia exhaust configuration. It can be installed on any brand duct discharge that is nominally 7" diameter.

The damper must be mounted vertically as it uses gravity to close when your exhaust fan is OFF.

Make sure you use aluminum foil tape or duct tape actually rated for use on ductwork. Most standard duct tape is not suitable for a permanent installation.

Comment: When I replace my hood (Fan & Light)over my stove, it came with a rectangle shape hood damper, mine is round. I would of have to replace and move the duct work. This just slip right in. Save me alot of work.
