Editorial Review:
Now available in either BLACK or SILVER finish! We took the new improved edition of our tried and true TC-750 and added an output level control to create the PERFECT preamp for use with computer sound cards. The adjustable output allows correct setting of recording levels, something you may find your burning software and / or sound card driver has insufficient range to permit. When used with a stereo, the control allows the phono source level to be set to match other inputs such as CD or video, so that switching between sources requires little or no change in the stereo's volume control setting.

Summary: Awesome product
Comment: I've digitized a lot of vinyl over the years, and I recently upgraded my whole system. This preamp was part of that upgrade. I would rate myself as a very picky engineer, not an audiophile. I'm looking for the best performing items, but I'm not interested in unmeasurable nuances.

I've picked the best components that I could find that meet my criteria of demonstrable benefit.

This item sits between my Technics SL-1200MK2 turntable with Stanton 681EEE cartidge and an Maudio 1010LT 24-bit sound card.

The performance is perfect. No audible hum or coloration to the sound at all - it just sits there and does its job. Highly recommended.

Summary: Just get this one.
Comment: This is far from the old school preamps but also far from the price. Only don't get one of those $25 ones, unless you are just scratching or have a hearing impediment. You will end up with this anyway and selling the other on eBay. If you want audiophile sound break out the cash (even good used ones go for $100+ and shipping) if good is enough then this is the one.

Summary: Perfect for what I needed
Comment: Was getting a lot of static through the phono input on my "older" Denon receiver with a Marantz turntable I just purchased. Moved it to the new pre-amp, and the audio quality is near perfect. I am not a huge audio buff, but needed to move some old records to CD.

Summary: Good Buy
Comment: This isn't a high-end preamp, but it is superior to most of those on DJ mixers and consumer receivers. The bass is less boomy and more audiophile in its ephemeral air-impact. The frequency response is flatter. And the highs are better controlled. Unlike higher-end preamps, though, it lacks the openness or resolution that you can get by spending in excess of $100 more each. The middle and upper mids, while flat, have a slightly slappy, forward quality compared to the other three phonos I've tried. But it is much more consistent-sounding between cartridges than the others. I'm also not sure the volume control is really necessary, though a balance control would have been nice. The output is a perfect match for something like the Xone 62's, but on the Numark mixers it was clearly not putting out as much as the built-in pre's. I suppose with high output cartridges it matches the gains of the line-ins better, but I don't see many instances where you'd need to adjust the volume in any situation other than going into a computer soundcard. For that purpose, the LC is ideal for the price. Otherwise the standard 750 will do fine and get rid of a pot in the path.

Summary: Well worth the money
Comment: When I installed my new stereo tuner-amplifier, it did not have a built-in phono preamplifier. In my search of Amazon for preamps, I was attracted to the TC-750. I researching it I discovered the TC-750LC which is the same unit but with an adjustable gain. I liked the specs so I orderd the TC-750LC. I placed the order on a Friday and it arrived by Priority Main the following Monday. I immediately installed it and played a couple of LPs so that I could adjust the gain and listen to the quality. My LPs have never sounded so good. The music is clean and crisp. There is absolutely no rumble. This unit is well worth the money and is the best phono preamp I have ever used. I recommend it highly.
