Editorial Review:
WINTER SOLSTICE tells the tale of small steps taken in the aftermath of family loss. Landscape gardener Jim Winters (LaPaglia) is a quiet craftsman, a soft-spoken man who prefers an orderly life. His family, however, is anything but orderly. Older son Gabe (Stanford) is planning his escape to Florida, leaving behind any shot at a stable future with his girlfriend. Younger son Pete (Webber) has retreated into a private world of anger, drift and disappointment. It is only when he meets his new neighbor, Molly (Janney), that Jim finds a way to deal with his own life and his family’s future.

Summary: Shallow and Awkward
Comment: I should really learn to never judge a book (or movie) by its cover. The laurels this film got from critics as well as film festivals just shows how out of touch they really are. This has got to be the worst movie I've seen since "About Schmitdt". The plot was thin, the characters were never really developed, and the direction was poor. Too bad, in the hands of the right director it could have been quite good.

Comment: I bought this title hoping for an American take on Rosamunde Pilcher's novel of the same name and I was soooooooooooo disappointed. I have not ever watched the entire movie.

Summary: Total disappointment
Comment: I ordered this product thinking it was based on Rosamunde Pilcher's inter Solstice. It was not! What a drag! The film ended and I thought I had fallen asleep during it and decided to watch it again. I did not make any sense.

Summary: Disappointment
Comment: Rosamunde Pilcher wrote a wonderful story called WINTER SOLSTICE. This bleak film bears no resemblance to her story and should not be advetised as such. I was vastly disappointed!!!
