Panasonic ES8043 Men's Washable Shaver with Linear Motor and Multi-Direction Pivoting Head, Triple Blade Shaver. The Panasonic Pivot Action and Pro Curve wet/dry shaver has the fastest linear motor (13,000 rpm's) and the sharpest blades in the industry (30 degree). The pivoting head not only rotates side to side but each head floats independently up and down to give you the closest shave in the industry. Model Panasonic ES8043S

Customer Rating: Summary: Not as good as other Panasonics Comment: Review of the Panasonic ES8043SC: I have been using Panasonic wet/dry shavers for about 10 years. Each one got better, except for this purchase. My previous model was the Panasonic ES8162 wet/dry, which I don't see listed on here. It is in the same price point as the Panasonic ES8168, and looks very similar. In any case, I was amazed three years ago by the ES8162, which shaved so close it almost hurt my skin if I was not careful. After three years, the shaver pop-up trimmer stopped working. I rely on the trimmer quite a bit, but that was the weakness of the ES8162. That trimmer felt flimsy the first day I used it, and I knew that would be the first part to go. (Anyone remember the full size trimmers on the older models with Linear motors? They were no joke.)
This shaver, the ES8043 - felt like a downgrade from the ES8162 plain and simple. After reading all the positive reviews on this shaver, I believed the consensus that you don't need to purchase the costlier Panasonic models. This model was about half the price of my last Panasonic, and for me it shaves half as close. After much work with it this morning, I felt like I had a five o' clock shadow stepping out of the shower. The pop-up trimmer feels sturdier than my old ES8162, so I'll give it two stars for the effort. I think I'll charge up the old ES8162, replace the blades and use another trimmer for a while. The ES8043SC will be a backup. Given all the positive reviews, this one was worth a shot, but was disappointing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Can't get a decent shave Comment: I have had less expensive, single head panasonic shavers in the past that I liked. I thought by spending more money I would get a better shaver. Not so. I can't get a decent shave from this shaver, even though I have a light beard. I also find it clumsy to use. I have a $10.00 shaver purchased from a major drug store (advertised "as seen on TV") that gives a better shave but has too small a head. I bought it for emergency use and didn't expect much. I expected more from Panasonic but this shaver just doesn't cut it. Customer Rating: Summary: Great shaver Comment: I've been using Panasonic shavers for many years and I'm very happy with their overall quality. This dry/wet shaver is great and easy to clean afterward. Customer Rating: Summary: Finally - an electric that cuts close and is quick to use Comment: I purchased the Panasonic after trying out a new braun to replace my last one. I've used Braun for the last 14 years! I have had the new shaver for 2 weeks and it is perfect. It cuts so close, can shave even when my face is still damp or with shaving cream. Although I cut myself once, it was only because I was using too much pressure. If you allow the shaver to glide over your skin, it does all of the work. It's easy to clean and holds a charge forever. I look forward to having this shaver a long time. Sorry Braun. Customer Rating: Summary: Best Electric Shave I've Ever Had Comment: For the last 15 years (i.e. my entire shaving life), I have used Norelco shavers. When the battery on my last one would no longer hold a charge, I decided to try something new, and purchase this Panasonic wet/dry shaver. Materials in the box caution users to "Please Stick With It. It's Worth it." They say my skin and beard need 30 days to adjust. Okay. Expectations duly lowered, I turned the shaver on, was momentarily surprised by the high frequency buzz that comes with 13,000 oscillations a minute, and ran the shaver down my cheek.
WOW.
Folks, this shaver has produced an EXTREMELY close shave, with no irritation at all, and no uncomfortable pulling sensation that Norelco's "lift and cut" method sometimes produces. Nothing can quite match a straight blade, but this is without a doubt the closest shave I've ever gotten from an electric shaver -- and I'm sure it will produce even better results as my skin and beard "adjust."
I was hesitant to switch from the trusty Norelco 3-headed shavers to this foil shaver. But I'm SO glad I did. And you can bet I'm going to tell my family about this. It was my dad who introduced me to Norelcos all those years ago. It's about time I introduce him to the Panasonic. :-)
