Summary: Mine are paper....and work great
Comment: I am not sure what the deal was for some, but I received my order, and I assure you that they are paper on the outside, not plastic. The envelopes are as described as are the dimensions. I bought them to send picture CD's to family and friends. I believe that these envelopes will do a great job of protecting the items during delivery.

Comment: These bubble mailers are not paper on the outside, they are plastic. You can't write on them, so if you orderany, make sure that you have self-adhesive labels touse. Not happy with these mailers. One good thing about them though, you can fold them in half to mail a cassette tape, with no problem. The picture of the description needs to be changed.
