Editorial Review:
What is Guaifenesin? Guaifenesin is a common component of many cold and cough remedies that helps loosen and liquefy mucus. Guaifenesin is a safe medication that may even be used by children over 12 years of age. Derived from a tree bark extract called guaiacum, guaifenesin was first used during the 16th century. Twenty years ago, the extract was synthesized, pressed into tablets and named guaifenesin. Guaifenesin FA as Effective as Extended Release Guaifenesin 600 Dr. St. Amand has informally tested Guaifenesin FA (Fast Acting) with his patients and found it to be just as effective as the Guaifenesin 600mg extended release product. He attributes these positive results to the quick dissolution of the fast acting guaifenesin tablets, which facilitates timely uptake and utilization by the body. Customer Comments on Guaifenesin I am on the guaifenesin treatment and have been on it for the last six months. I can say that I am better than I was six months ago. I take two [Guaifenesin] AM, PMfind my lung mucous looser and lessened.

Customer Rating: Summary: It really works Comment: I used to take Pseudovent (which worked great), but they took it off the market. I was surfing the net & I spotted this & mentioned it to my doctor. He said that using this in conjunction with the Allegra-D he had prescribed would give me therapeutic value similar to Pseudovent. I got great service on purchasing it through Amazon & it really works. Customer Rating: Summary: Effective fibromyalgia treatment Comment: 2 tablets every 4-6 hours greatly reduces all my fibromyalgia symptoms (pain, stiffness dry eyes, sleep and digestive problems) with no side effects. As advertised, they are fast acting and dye free. On the minus side they are powdery, foul tasting and not so easy to swallow. Not a bad price compared to Mucinex, but the effect wears off rather abruptly. A timed release dye free version with a coating would be nice. Customer Rating: Summary: Dye free and well priced. Comment: Dye free and well priced. Be sure to check the ingredient labels both active and inactive ingredients. This company also makes a time release version but it is not dye free. Customer Rating: Summary: Effective Expectorant - with (for me) a mild side effect. Comment: This brand of Guaifenesin is an effective expectorant, though since it contains 400 mg of the active ingredient, as compared to 600 mg for Musinex, I need to take 3 pills, as compared to 2 for the name brand, per dose, and unlike the far more expensive Musinex, I experience a flushed feeling especially in my face and scalp for about 10 minutes after dosing, caused, I imagine by one or more of the 'inactive' ingredients. I do, however plan on re-ordering more soon. By the way, I asked my primary care physician and my ENT specialist if they could pin-point the offending ingredient(s), and they had no idea.
Thank you,
Martin Vidnovic Customer Rating: Summary: Shipping Comment: I am not reviewing the product, but rather the shipping. Product came as ordered, but in a USPS Priority Mail shipping box with two
containers of tablets rolling around loose in the box. Although the
product was not damaged, it would seem a no-brainer that any parcel
should include packing material to secure the contents.
