Summary: Works for Me
Comment: I have been taking these for a few months now and I was surprised to read some of the negative reviews on here. I don't think they have any taste at all and they do not bother my stomach thats why I keep taking them.
If you swallow it with orange juice you don't taste anything. I do however do not like the size. They are very large so I cut it up into at least 4 pieces.

Summary: Horse Pills
Comment: These pills are HUGE and incredibly dry!!! Are you kidding me? I'm supposed to swallow these while I'm nauseous?!? Fat chance! Although I have to admit, when I cut the pill into 3 pieces and choked each piece down with a ton of OJ, I didn't experience any weird side effects. So if you don't have a problem swallowing really big, chalky pills, the vitamins and minerals in these pills seem to balance nicely with your digestive system.

Summary: definitely recommend
Comment: I was using Rainbow Light before getting pregnant and it was an easy decision to use it for my prenatal needs. Vitamins that are food based work better for me. My body absorbs them better and best of all I don't get sick after taking them. I typically get nauseous with chemical based vitamins. I like the fact that I only have to take it once a day and the only reason I don't give 5 stars is because of the smell, which I have gotten use to but might be a problem for some people.

Summary: FEEL the difference!!!
Comment: I specifically searched for this item online just so I could rave about it! I used these prenatals with my second pregnancy and wish I'd had them for my first. I continued to take them for the year I spent nursing my baby. They made me feel so good that I have started taking them again in place of a multi (I'm not currently pregnant). After trying many expensive brands of multivitamins (including the $$$ packets that are supposed to be better than a "one-a-day" pill), I still maintain I was better off with this one remarkable vitamin. After 4 days of consistently taking this, I am NOTICABLY more awake, energized, and focused. Instead of taking a vitamin because I am "supposed to," I take it because it actually makes me FEEL BETTER. I don't have to blindly hope that it's doing something!

I am appalled by the people who whine about the bad taste and smell. They are supposed to be SWALLOWED, after all. Nobody says you have to suck on them. Vitamins and minerals that are natural, potent, and effective SHOULD have a sort of funky smell. Think of what they are made from! A "pretty" vitamin with no smell or taste is going to made of mostly synthetic ingredients that aren't going to be absorbed by your body anyway. I mean jeez, most people take vitamins in the first place because they are too lazy to eat right, so they try to get the required nutrients in a convenient little pill. They are vitamins and minerals you and your baby NEED, in a PILL, that you SWALLOW, ONCE A DAY. Now you want it to taste good on the way down and not have an odor? Do you want a vitamin that works, or one that is super attractive -- because this one works. Hold your nose and take it with something sweet if you have to.

Summary: surely it can taste better than this ...
Comment: My insurance does not cover prenatal vitamins, so on the hunt for something I could afford I purchased these. I liked that they were natural, included ginger extract, and were one a day.

But surely they can make a vitamin that tastes better than this? I've tried a range of other vitamins, and never have I had anything that tastes this bad. I don't understand the folks who said this doesn't taste bad - did they get different pills? Are their taste buds dead? Even the smell in opening the bottle is overwhelming. My current method is trying to cover the pungent taste (and aftertaste) with milk. Doesn't quite work, but anything to take the edge off.

I do take them with the Mommy's Bliss Omega-3 DHA supplements, and those are quite nice.
