Summary: Blends great, but a bit dark for me
Comment: I first tried Bare Esentuals make up at my mom's house. She had some so I thought I'd try it. I loved it. She had the eye brow kit, and it was the dark blond. I'm dark brown w/ highlights, so when I bought my own I bought the brunette. Personally I think the dark blond blended better into my brows and didn't give me the "hello... meet my eyebrows" look. The brunette just made my brows look black. But the kit is wonderful and does blend extremely well to hide the sparse areas. It looks much better than any pencil I've ever tried.

Summary: Perfect brows everytime!
Comment: I have been a long-time Bare Escentuals user, but I have been hesitant to purchase the brow kit. Previously I used mascara, cheap drugstore powders, pencils, eyeshadows, etc. but none did the job very well or lasted very long. Finally I broke down and purchased the kit. I am so glad that I did. The stiff bristles of the brush make sure that the powder goes exactly where it needs to go and no where else. Once the powder is in place, a quick swipe of the wand gives my brows a gel coating that no only keeps them in place, but also helps preserve the color all day. Easy to use, lasts all day, what more could I want?

Summary: The end of my quest for the perfect eyebrow colour?
Comment: Since I started colouring my light brown hair a darker colour, and wanting my brows to match, I've spent the last few years trying many different eyebrow pencils, none of which I was completely happy with. My criteria are:

1. Must not be tested on animals
2. Must be just the right shade
3. Must (preferably) be made from natural ingredients and not irritate my skin
4. Must have good staying power
5. Must look natural

I hadn't initially thought about using a loose colour, since I like the convenience of pencils, and unlike many people I've found that most of the pencils I've tried have given a natural enough look. But I was still unhappy with them, mostly because I couldn't find just the right colour, or if that was ok, they'd contain synthetic ingredients that irritated my skin, or would be too soft and smudgy, and come off easily.

So when I found out about mineral make up, with its simpler formulations and reputedly great results, I tried looking for an eyebrow pencil, but couldn't find one. I did come across this loose brow powder from Bare Escentuals however, and upon discovering that the company is an ethical one that doesn't test on animals, I decided to give it a go. Since I didn't already own a decent brush, I opted for the kit, thinking the gel might also be useful if the powder didn't stay in place very well.

As it happens, I don't need the gel, since my eyebrows aren't bushy, and the powder has great staying power on its own (even overnight). The brush is nice & firm, and does the job well. Although I initially found it a bit awkward applying the powder with a brush, rather than just filling in with a pencil, it doesn't take long to get used to.

I use the dark brown colour, to match my hair, and it is very dark - good for those with dark hair, or who want a more dramatic look (I had been a bit concerned that it might not be dark enough to easily fill in the spaces in my rather thin brows - no worries there!). Those with lighter hair, or those who want a more subtle look, would be better off with one of the paler colours. It looks natural too, and not harsh like some pencils. It's also easy to build up the colour gradually, to get the effect you want.

I also like the simplicity of the ingredients, and my skin agrees - since I've been using this, the occasional dry flaky skin that I used to get on my eyebrows when using my favourite pencils has disappeared, and they never itch any more either.

The pot is quite tiny - smaller than I expected - but you only need to use such a minute amount of powder, I can see that it will last for a long time.

My only real complaint it that the pot is rather fiddly to use. As others have noted, it is filled to the brim, so you have to be very careful when opening, to avoid spilling the powder. A slightly deeper pot for the same amount of powder would make a difference, but as it is, it's kind of awkward (but this will be less of a problem the more I use, of course).

But that's a relatively minor complaint, and overall I'm very happy with this. It's not quite as convenient as the pencils I've used, but the results make the little bit of extra effort involved worth it. So unless I find a mineral brow pencil with similar ingredients that works just as well (and I'm in no hurry to start looking again), I'll be sticking with this from now on.

Comment: I bought this kit and have been extremely pleased with the product. I have black/dark brown hair and their brunette shade is great because it isn't too dark (black would be way to harsh) or too light (which wouldn't blend in). It's super easy to use and always looks natural.

When it comes to restocking, here is my suggestion: Buy the powder by itself, continue to use the same brush, and either A: buy more gel on QVC.com, or buy a different brand eyebrow gel (Maybelline has made one of these for years which I have used and find satisfactory, although the brush is different; and at Target Sonia Kushak offers one as well which I have not tried).

Finally, one tip: BUY THIS THROUGH QVC.com!!! I hope I don't get kicked off for saying this, but the product is a couple bucks cheaper AND shipping costs less. Additionally, they offer autoship on some of the products, which means they will automatically send you the item at regular intervals (such as 60 days) and you don't have to worry about reordering or running out. The price difference isn't much, but why not save a couple bucks for the same exact product?

Comment: Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Essential Brow Kit is the best way to groom your eye brows and keep them looking natural, not drawed on. The shades that are offered are user friendly and match beautifully. Fill in and add depth to sparse eye brows and still look natural. This is a great product for those who have few or hardly any eye brows. I had gotten carried away arching my brows one time and they looked so bad. I just applied the brow shadow to make a perfect arch and bam...my brows looked great! Because the shades are very complimentary, you don't look like you have drawn them on with a marker. And the gel sets the brows in place and gives them that "just groomed" look all day.It doesn't look cakey, doesn't look fake, isn't hard to apply, and the results are stunning. I use the brow kit everyday.
