Summary: OK for my Super Sensitive Skin But Not Outstanding Comment: I am allergic and sensitive to almost all skin creams--mass market, upscale, if it has retinol I'm a gonner. BUT I don't want to look old and unkempt because I have to anticipate working with the public until my early 70's. So this product is one that I can use twice a day with no negative reaction. It does cause my eyes to water so I don't use it around the eye area. I don't look great--like I've had surgery, but it does give a nice texture, balances dry/senstive/oily areas and allows my makeup to go on well and stay. I will continue to use this product over anything else because of my lack of allergic reactions. Customer Rating: Summary: Not Worth the Price -- 'Hope' Doesn't Live Up to Hype Comment: I feel like there must be something wrong with my skin, because unlike the people who gave this product rave reviews, I got nothing out of this product. Fortunately I bought the small size from Sephora (I believe it's only 1oz?) because I wasn't ready to buy the larger, ridiculously expensive ones without a trial use first. Anyway, the product itself is deceiving because it appears to have a fluffy consistency that would work well with any skin type -- creamy enough for dry skin without being too greasy or heavy for oily/acne-prone skin. However, the cream leaves a flaky film when you rub it into your face. I tried rubbing it in as gently as possible and using as little cream as possible at a time in order to avoid this, but it still occurs. Anyway, to sum it up, this product is more of a hassle than anything else, especially if you want to apply makeup on afterwards -- hard to do with flakes of moisturizer all over your skin, which you'll have to spend time taking off first. It makes me wonder: does your skin even absorb the over-priced cream in the first place?? Customer Rating: Summary: WTF? Seriously.............................................. Comment: I along with so many of you purchased this item thinking it was the miracle item I was looking for. And loll and behold this is one of the foulest items I have ever used. I had after only a couple uses had red blotchy dry itchy spots all over my face. Not to mention that this is the worst smelling item I have ever used. I like a lot of philosophy other items but they went to wrong with this one. Customer Rating: Summary: Keeping The Lid On Hope Comment: I once bought this product as an affectionate gag for my friend Hope (who I later decided belongs in a jar with the lid screwed down tight, but that's another story). However, this is a nice, not overly flowery, not horribly greasy moisturizing cream, good for daily use. Customer Rating: Summary: Not Bad, but not Great Either. Comment: I don't mind the smell like it seems others do. I actually prefer it because it doesn't smell like flowers, which tend to give me a headache. The product does soak right into the skin, which is nice, but I noticed my face feeling rough the first few days I used it and lasting for almost two weeks, it was only upon stoping the product for a few days that I noticed my skin, in some areas, looks more even toned and smoother. So I am thinking the product does something to the top layer of skin, like maybe a dermabrasion effect, that can only be noticed after a few weeks, and only when taking a break from the product. I don't know, maybe I haven't used it long enough. I did have some sensitivity in my forehead area, but my skin is sensitive there anyway, I am only ok with that area if I just use Dove soap and Eucrine Lotion, for some reason those two products don't irritate, but they don't repair either. Ugh! LOL..well, I can just say, try it yourself, and see if the minimum benefits are good enough for you. I still use it from time to time, but if I know I have an affair to attent to, I hold off for a few days to get my skin past the abrasion phase.
