Editorial Review:
The second Gundam Wing DVD arrives with 5 more action-packed episodes. Now that Relena has learned her true identity, she must decide what course her life will take. Meanwhile, the Gundam Pilots are led into a trap by Oz forces. Can the combined might of these five young pilots and their Gundams stand up to the treachery of Oz? Extras include character and mecha image gallery, Animated Menus, and Interactive DVD Menus. Contains episodes 5-10 in both subtitled and dubbed unedited (13UP) versions.
Gundamis one of the oldest and most popular franchises in anime history; Gundam Wing, a 49-part series that was broadcast in Japan in 1995-1996, is currently airing on the Cartoon Network.

Several story lines unfold against the background of a rebellion by the Space Colonies against the United Earth Sphere Alliance; at the same time, the OZ Special Forces mount a coup d'état against the Alliance. The Colonies send Heero, Duo, Trowa, Quatra, and Chang, the pilots of the Gundam Mobile Suits, to Earth to wreak havoc on military installations. The wiry teenagers find themselves caught up in these interconnected conflicts, fighting OZ leader Treize, his glacial, sadistic, assistant Lady Une, and the masked pilot Zechs, who pursues his own agenda. Although they're heroes of the series, the Gundam pilots often come across as cold, arrogant, and needlessly brash. In the middle of one battle, Chan leaves his indestructible Gundam to fight a duel with Treize using swords. But fans of the series aren't interested in character arcs or plot development: every episode offers lots of elaborate battles between the splendidly designed transforming Gundams and the lesser robot-suits of the villains.

Rating: 8 and older: no nudity or sex; occasional profanity; violence largely restricted to machines attacking each other. --Charles Solomon

Summary: The Plot Thickens...
Comment: The first Gundam Wing dvd started with a bang, and finished with a revelation about who Relena really is. This dvd continues where the last left off with Relena's return to earth. But when OZ tries to take Relena out of the picture will Heero place the mission first, or give in to his feelings for her?

The first episode is good, but the second episode has in my opinion the first HUGE plot twist in the series. The Gundam pilots are manipulated by OZ into destroying the same kind of people they're supposed to protect, and this allows OZ to start a world-wide revolution. The Earthsphere Alliance were creampuffs compared to OZ, and now we know why. The Treize Assassination deals with the aftermath of the previous episode, but the real high point is Wu Fei's confrontation with Treize. But is Treize really as bad as he seems?

One of my favorite episodes in the entire Gundam Wing series is episode 9, Portrait of a Ruined Country. This episode focuses primarily on Zechs and his simultaneous attempt to free his home country and master the awesome Mobile Suit Tallgeese. We already know that Zechs is the greatest non-Gundam pilot on earth, but when he first tries to pilot Tallgeese...he nearly dies. The speech he makes about just what exactly the Tallgeese is should NOT be missed, to say nothing of the AWESOME battle scene where he first tries it out. And to top it all off, at the end of the episode Zechs takes off his mask.

And of course it would be cruel of me not to mention the last episode to be found on the dvd, where Heero and Zechs duel for the first time.

This is a great series for people who love Mecha, and Gundam fans in particular. And if you love the first few discs, keep getting more! The series just better and better as it goes along (in character development, action scenes, animation quality, and just plain overall greatness).

Summary: OZ has taken Center Stage
Comment: Treize, the leader of OZ, has tricked the Gundam pilots to kill the leaders of the Earth-Sphere Alliance. The Gundam pilots thought they were killing members of OZ, but they were fooled by Treize!
Meanwhile, Zechs discovers a flaw in the tallgeese and we learn that Relena is Zechs's sister! Zechs wears his mask as a sign of shame we also learn.

Summary: An Excellent GW DVD if just for Episode 10 Alone!
Comment: The second Gundam Wing DVD contains 5 episodes that set several important elements in place for what is to come later in the series. Episode 6 gives us insight into Relena's character and her attachment to the Gundam pilot Heero. The next two episodes develop the plans of OZ, the antagonists, and sees the Gundam pilots suffer a serious defeat. Episode 9 further develops the OZ character, Zechs Marquise, and allows us a look into his past. Finally, we have episode 10. I believe this to be Wing's best episode. The action, drama, and, well, everything is done so well in this episode. The conflict between the Gundams and OZ gets really serious. The end will leave you in suspense if you haven't seen it, and remind of the lump that formed in your throat if you already have. You also get profiles of Gundam Deathscythe, Duo Maxwell, and Zechs Marquise.

Summary: scenario for bloodshed
Comment: The Episode: Scenario for Bloodshed is great, showing how OZ launches a coup dtat against the alliance. The events in the Treize Assasination epidose are key to psyche of wufei especially in episode 49. you will finally get to she the Tallgeese in action! highly recommended.
