Customer Rating: Summary: Awful and terrible mistakes in this book Comment: The last time I was in Argentina, I bought the Frommers and Lonely Planet. Those served me well.
Went to Santiago, Valpariso, Torres Del Paine and Easter Island for 2 weeks in November, decided to give the Moon book a shot.
My partner and I use our guidebook religiously as this was the main guide we used previously, however Moon Chile has failed us. It had incorrect descriptions for Hotels and restaurants in Puerta Natales.
Bad layout of book, difficult to follow and lack of instructions.
One would think that a travel book would be easy to look up key information such as maps and basic information.
Because the Moon Chile book was so awful, during our stay in Chile, we relied on a 1990 edition of Lonely Planet Chile book that we found in a Hostel. Sadly, the 1990 edition was much more useful than the 2007 Moon Chile.
I would not recommend this book, my advice is to stick to Lonely Planet. Customer Rating: Summary: Moon Chile Handbook Comment: I just got home a few days ago from my Chile, Patagonia and Peru jaunt this year. This book was all I expected it to be. Even with our fast sinking Dollar the rates listed were very close to actual and Mr Bernhardson's insights and recommendations were reliable as usual.
