Editorial Review:
Zoe Reynard has it all. A successful career, a loving husband, three beautiful children, a devoted mother, and the house of her dreams. Most women would kill to be in her shoes. There's just one thing she has that no one else in their right mind would want. A secret addiction that could very well ruin her fairy tale life. Zoe is addicted to sex.
Addicted is the story of Zoe, an African-American female arts dealer. It traces her life from the time she first meets her husband, Jason, in the fifth grade, falls in love with him over a game of Twister in the eighth grade, loses her virginity to him in high school and eventually marries him. Everything seems perfect in Zoes life to her friends and family as she secretly deals with serious problems in her marriage. After failing to get Jason to open up to her sexually, Zoe becomes involved in not one, not two but three extramarital affairs. By the time she seeks the aid of a prominent female African-American therapist, the walls of her picture perfect life have already started to crumble.
Addicted shifts into high gear as Zoe finds out that everyone from her lovers to her husband to her own mother are hiding secrets of their own. Zoe's best friend, Brina, is physically abused by her alcoholic boyfriend, Dempsey. Meanwhile, Zoe discovers under hypnosis that her fascination with sex stems from she had buried deep in the crevices of her mind years before. Zoe ends up being repetitively stalked and attacked. It all comes to a head on a cold, dark mountain following a trail of murders and the true murderer is anyone's guess.
Addicted does for women what Fatal Attraction did for men. It will make a woman think twice before risking it all.

Customer Rating: Summary: The title is oh so relevant! Comment: Hands down, the best book you will ever read. I have never been so mentally stimulated. No, it isn't a Black history memoir or an intellectual manual, but it is by far the best book I have ever come across. It took me all of 12 hours to read because I just couldn't put it down. I didn't want it to end. Ladies, and some gentlemen, you will not be disappointed; GUARANTEED! This book throws you for a loop every other page. It makes you happy, it makes you sad, it defintely surprises the hell out of you, it makes you grateful for all that you have, and while doing all of these things, it also pushes a very strong message. The details are powerful, the words are vivid; it is seriously poetry in motion folks. 16 thumbs up on this one. Read it people. Trust me. Customer Rating: Summary: mellie Comment: Addicted was one of the best books I've read in a while!! If you love Zane you will ove addicted. In this book "Zoe Reynard" is a woman who didn't get to experience much sexual pleasure from her husband "Jason" so she decides to see others to fulfill her fantasies. Everyhting is fine until Zoe realizes that not only is she cheating on her husband but she is full blown ADDICTED to sex. A must read and page turner!!! Customer Rating: Summary: I'm Addicted too! Comment: This by far has been one of the best books that I have ever read! I have brought a couple of Zane books, so this one had to be added to my collection also. And it was worth every penny. Not only have I read it twice, I have also suggested it to friends. Some may feel that this story could never become realistic, but I strongly disagree. I have been there before in a past relationship where I'm stuck, lost, and in need of special attention. So I felt Zoe's pain. With that being said, Zane, keep up the good work! Customer Rating: Summary: Zane, addicted Comment: I really enjoyed this book. She's is an author that can keep you reading. Customer Rating: Summary: Someone didn't graduate from school Comment: I don't know how in the world anyone rated this trash as a good book at five stars. It's not even well written. There are other authors that are actual writers. First of all when you write you should do research. It's obviously that Zane didn't do any type of research. She didn't bother about checking to see what type of slang the teens used in the era she had mentioned. She didn't bother to talk to a psychologist or psychiatrist about sex addiction. I doubt if either one would be able to diagnosis a patient on the first visit. And there are other examples. You have to make the reader believe even if it's a fiction. Someone commented that any eighth grader could've written this. I think an eighth grader would do a much better job. When she was hypnotize and told what happened in her past, nothing really happened. She was not molested as a child or abused but what happened made her become addicted to sex. Come on people, this doesn't even sound realistic. This isn't even a good fiction. Then once she came out of her hypnotic state they were staring at her like she said something unbelievable. Again...what type of novels do you people read? Or should I ask what is your education level....third grade. Also, she had too much going on, too many plots. I did better when I was in high school and had to write stories. This really doesn't even deserve a star. But the star is for how much money she's getting for this. We have some outstanding authors. Toni Morrison, Eric J. Dickey, Terry McMillian to only name a few. If you don't like what they've written, you have to admit they are excellent writers. Zane doesn't really know how to write and she writes trash and you think it is good literature because it's trashy. Unbelievable. Harlequin romance novels are better written then this book and I don't even like those books.
