Editorial Review:
Conn Iggulden’s novels are grand historical tales of conquest and vengeance, cruelty and greatness. Now the acclaimed author of Genghis: Birth of an Empire delivers a masterful new novel of the mighty Mongol conqueror—as Genghis Khan sets out to unify an entire continent under his rule.…
He came from over the horizon, a single Mongol warrior surrounded by his brothers, sons, and fellow tribesmen. With each battle his legend grew and the ranks of his horsemen swelled, as did his ambition. For centuries, primitive tribes had warred with one another. Now, under Genghis Khan, they have united as one nation, setting their sights on a common enemy: the great, slumbering walled empire of the Chin.
A man who lived for battle and blood, Genghis leads his warriors across the Gobi Desert and into a realm his people had never seen before—with gleaming cities, soaring walls, and canals. Laying siege to one fortress after another, Genghis called upon his cunning and imagination to crush each enemy in a different way, to overcome moats, barriers, deceptions, and superior firepower—until his army faced the ultimate test of all.
In the city of Yenking—modern-day Beijing—the Chin will make their final stand, setting a trap for the Mongol raiders, confident behind their towering walls. But Genghis will strike with breathtaking audacity, never ceasing until the Emperor himself is forced to kneel.

Customer Rating: Summary: *sigh* What a disappointment Comment: Ok, LotB isn't terrible but it's pretty mediocre historical fiction. I think that the only reason I actually finished it was because the subject matter appeals to me. (That's also the only reason why I didn't give it 2 stars). The actual writing is decent but the book seems to be searching (unsuccessfully for a plot). Sure, there is the historical meta-story of the invasion of China but, as a novel, the plot is weak.
Not recommended. Customer Rating: Summary: Great blend of history and fiction... Comment: If you like action stories with a build up of characters and twists and turns that make the action visualize in your head as you read it this is a book for you. Yeah Iggulden takes some liberties with historical fact but he also takes pains after the respective book to point out where he embellished or changed the story to suit the path he was taking the book.
Great read, hard to put down, makes you crave the next book like a crack junkie between paydays. Customer Rating: Summary: Genghis Khan Lords of the Bow Comment: I have read all of Conn Iggulden's books on Julius Caesar and Genghis Khan and loved them all. I couldn't put them down. You feel you know his characters; he brings them to life. In the midst of it all, you learn about the lifestyles, geography, and people of the period. I didn't want to say good bye to Caesar and can't wait until the third book on Genghis Khan. Thank you Conn Iggulden for the richness of history in a riveting story. Customer Rating: Summary: Amazing Book! Comment: I have been a huge Conn Iggulden fan since he began writing the Julius Cesar series, and now he is tackling Genghis Kahn. I love it even more.
I've found his writings to be historically acurate, and interesting. I've always been a huge fan of Historical Fiction, but i think this book goes beyond the whole Historical genre. It really is a study of human nature and Father/Son relationships.
It starts out with Genghis and his father, and then moves on to genghis and his sons. It's lessons and tribulations are timeless. Customer Rating: Summary: Genghis: Lords of the Bow Comment: I love the series, but would like to see Book Three, and the "Sons" of the Lords of the Bow. Good read, overall.
