Editorial Review:

Agnes Crandall’s problems are rolling to a boil. First, a dog-napper invades her kitchen, seriously hampering her attempts to put on a wedding that she’s staked her entire net worth on. Then a man climbs through her bedroom window to save her. “Shane” (no last name) may be Agnes’s hero, but he’s also a professional hitman—so he’s no stranger to trouble himself…

Between a rival who wants to take him out and an uncle who may have lost five million bucks in Agnes’s basement, Shane’s plate is plenty full. Soon Agnes and Shane are tangled up with the lowlifes after the money, a gang of Southern mob wedding guests, a dog named Rhett, and—most dangerous of all—each other.

Summary: Fast-paced and interesting
Comment: The book was a little bit hard to keep up with at times but Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer put so many twists and turns in the story that the book was extremely hard to put down. Agnes and the Hitman has a unique plot, a list of very endearing characters, especially Agnes and Shane, and tons of humor to keep everything interesting. Because this is a very fast-paced and deeply plotted book, don't expect to finish reading it in one sitting. Instead, this is better saved for a long weekend, a long holiday break or a long plane ride. Once read, the book is seared into your brain because it is that interesting and unique, almost one of a kind. Get your copy today, if you haven't already and you'll see what I mean!

Summary: My favorite book of all times
Comment: I'm a book addict. I happily admit it, and this is not just my favorite Jennifer Crusie book, but my favorite book of all times. I don't think anyone can make it through this book without smiling, chuckling, and flat out laughing out loud. This would be a GREAT Christmas, birthday, anniversary, or whatever present to someone who wants a book that makes them feel better all the way through. The hero and heroine are stellar, and the supporting cast of characters are delightful, and as for Brenda, well she is all that is bitchiest in southern womanhood - bless her heart. I beg you, read this book. If Amazon would let me give it 10 stars, I would.

Summary: DNF did not finish
Comment: How many times can someone kill and get away with it? Some humor but very dull. I am confused about the reviews this one has gotten. BTW, the skillet gets old.

Summary: Beware of Cooking Forks
Comment: Audio Version - Okay the narrator didn't add to the story, in fact she may have taken away from it since she really couldn't pull off male voices. It didn't get any better the more it went on. If you're turned off by that, get the book in paper form.

Nevertheless, the story is good, not the greatest and while there weren't many surprises, a few, the connection between Agnes and Shane was great and I loved LL and Carpenter. I would certainly buy another book with the four main characters.

Setting, well described you could easily picture it in your mind. A little better description of the characters would have been appreciated but I could easily work with what I had.

Not what I would call a G rated book more like a strong PG-13.

More then several times I burst out laughing over the dialogue and never again will the verb `forking' be the same.

A nice cozy where the men who were paid to do their jobs did it, not all the women were nice, some were down right nasty in a realistic way, and all the loose ends were tied up in a nice neat package.
