[solved] Question about Currency Symbols Reply to topic

Using Storez in UK, I'm getting the following displayed in the Confirmation/Notification emails:

£

instead of £.

I'm guessing that this is because the & pound ; (w/o spaces) is being sent in utf8, and the 2 email apps I've tested with (Eudora & MS Office Outlook 11) do not handle utf8?

Any suggestions how to avoid this? Besides changing all the symbols to text, eg. GBP in place of £?

TIA.

Ok, as there's no way to compel customers of Storez to use the latest and greatest email app, I fixed it myself...

Most of the world (non-english) would disagree - they live with unicode etc every day.

It doesn't take the latest and greatest email app to display correctly - just a half-decent and updated one, and configured appropriately.

It's the same problem with email clients that can't handle & in email links - the client, not the software.

In any event, Storez already allows you to decide what gets put in the left and/or right symbol box - if symbols are a concern for you, then use abbreviations e.g. USD CAD GBP YEN EURO etc.
