[done] ForumsPlus: Restrict user edits to last edit only

Please consider adding this hack as a feature to ForumPlus ( and/or CPG-Forum Wink )

Ideally this would be a new option in Forum Config where allowing the user to edit own posts would change from Yes / No to Yes(1) / If no reply(2) / No (0). But I suspect the simpler option of just substituting for existing Yes procedure would work for most sites. In which case the coding is already done I believe.

If neither meets your preferences for standard release, perhaps add code but leave commented out, so it is an easily maintained mod?

The logic behind the change is exactly the same as that which currently limits user from deleting tehir post if already replied to - it stops history being changed. Code is remarkably similar too.

Not quite so simple - the whole authorization system is predicated on true/false - I need to tread carefully.

In any event, people always have edit capability on the last post anyway, if they simply use the existing preview capability - it's there for a reason.

I'll added your original hack and we'll see how it is accepted - later I'll look at including the multi option.

Sub-forums is almost completed, so a revised ForumsPlus will be issued shortly.

When v2.0.2 is released, there is an admin config option to restrict user edits, when allowed, to either their last post, or any of their posts.
