Post subject: Upload many Products

Hi Phoenix, your needy patron again...

Storez is really cool, but something that would make it even cooler would be if there was a way to upload, through say comma separated values, as many carts allow, your product base. I have over 1,000 products, and while I am glad I'll be setting things up a bit different in this cart...having a way to take my old products from the CVS I have from my old setup...translate it to the fields Storez needs, then upload...would be really great.

Ian

Phoenix, read the bugger reply: It wouldn't have to be something that translates anyting, the person would be doing that on their own in excell.

What a CSV download/upload does is basically give you a way that you can add lots of products, by basically taking the fields of the products, putting them in csv, then when it uploads it would add new categories/product entries/make changes to existing ones, based on the changes made to the CSV file.

Every other cart I've worked with has had some sort of CSV download/upload system for products. I mean, yea, I will start to load products the manual way...but as a developmental/moving forward thing, your cart here would be much more widely apealing with some way to mass upload products.

If there's a better way than CSV, I'm all for it!

A CSV file is commonly used to import data into databases - nothing special about it.

But, it still needs a customized solution for each different set of data unless I write a whole new interface.

I wish I could help more, but I'm no coder. I'm good for testing things. I'm a promoter by nature and profession. If there's anything I can do to work with you to get more help where needed, let me know!
