[fixed] Availability option Reply to topic

With 9.2.3, I no longer have control over the availability option. I made a custom one called "Made to order" but after selecting it for a product, upon pressing update, it changes to either "in stock" if the quantity reflects higher than 0, or "out of stock" if the quantity is 0.

Still can't change it in v9.3.4. I edited a product changing the stock quantity to 3. Manage stock is selected (yes). I change the availability to the custom one I created titled "made to order." When I press update, it changes the availability to "out of stock" every time.

However, the product can still be ordered after making the stock change. So maybe it's an admin display issue? But then again, maybe not, because when viewing the product, it does not show what my availability option is set to show for the product. ie, "product is made to order therefore will be shipped within 4-6 weeks," like it does when the availability option stayed at what I set it to.

At present, I'm having to change the value manually in the database to get it to stick.

hmm, the changes do only make it work correctly for stock management i.e. it's either In or Out of Stock when under stock management.

I can tweak it further to allow for custom stock settings but it will have to be understood that those settings will not allow stock management, otherwise it cannot work within the current setup.
i.e. it will set Manage Stock to "No" if you use a custom setting.

Acceptable?

Hmmm. Trying to grasp how it will function. I guess I can put the "Made to order" information in every product description. I only have one product that I need to manage stock on, so I guess that could work.

Situation should be straight forward:

Manage Stock = Yes
- Availability is either In or Out of stock
- Shipping ETS is "whatever days/weeks"

Manage Stock = No
- Availability is "product is made to order"
- Shipping ETS is "within 4-6 weeks"

You can't manage stock when it's made to order i.e. there isn't any stock.

Ok, I got ya. But as I've stated, there is still an issue with the availability option correct? Because regardless of what I set the manage stock option to, I could never change the availability option. Always reverts to out of stock. I just set one item to manage stock = yes, and quantity of 5. It still changes availability to "out of stock."
